Once upon a Ben

A cursed romance

I'll now be going forward into the story of Once Upon a Time, I'll use plot lines and themes from seasons 2 and 3 or so starting now, so if you haven't watched till that point, this will be a spoiler warning

"so my question is, why am I here, and is there a way out of this town" This question proposed by Ben lingers in the air for a while as the all too powerful MR. Gold smiles in gleeful anticipation. (finally, things are getting interesting after 10 years of waiting) gold thinks to himself. After a minute of shuffling pause and Ben's waiting reaches the boiling point the devil in question finally makes his move to answer the question.

"Okay then" Mister Gold sounds out finally alleviating the suspense in the air from both Ben and Regina in the room, Ben is clueless and Regina is filled with apprehension, perhaps she knows something.

"as for why you and your friend are here, I'm honestly unsure this is the first time in years that something like this has happened" This immediately caught the attention of Regina the only other person in the room, she looked on with bated breath and shock towards Mr. Gold

"You're not seriously going to tell this guy his town secret, are you? I mean that's just crazy"

These words permeated Bens's head, the fact that he was getting closer and closer to the truth fills him with confidence and excitement. "the town's secret huh? , and what might that be" Ben finally speaks his mind as this shocks Regina again (dang I said too much again)

"see dearie, we have piqued the interest of our newfound friend here, we have to take responsibility for that don't we" a sleek and knowing Mr. Gold speaks increasing his irritation of Regina slowly.

"I won't let you ruin what I worked so hard to create, I won't let you take my happy ever after" These mysterious let loos in Ben's brain like a bull (just what's going on here:) Ben ponders with seriousness level of apprehension until his thoughts were cut off by mister gold and his snake-like mouth. "You'll stay right there, won't you...please" Mister Gold says with a knowing smirk that leaves Regina silent and for some reason she didn't or couldn't speak again, this was quite odd to Ben as since meeting her she has no issue with voicing her opinions, and concerns, he'll have to find more about that later.

"alight then kid, I'm going to tell you the truth about this place so you better pay attention, I won't be repeating myself, "Mister Gold says through chuckles.

"where going to start at the very beginning, when fairy tales were the reality and the modern day was just an imagination" This shocked Ben but not as much as it should have since he's heard all this before from Henry. This got the attention of Mister Gold who is keenly aware that Ben has been finding the truth for some time now.

"I see that you already know, in which case this will be a lot easier to explain" he continues with the story " 20 years ago before all this there was a forest where dreams were made of, this place was quite beautiful and most people were quit happy here, with very few problems, however as you know there's no such thing as a happy ending for everyone and there's always a good side and bad" this also gets bens attention as he doesn't remember telling Mr gold that he was a hero in the other world, but something in him must be filar to gold since he sensed right off the bat. The next person who grew shocked was Regina once more, mostly due to the riding emotions she felt from thinking about the past. She bit her lip in frustration as Mr gold smiled in more glee, Ben was somewhat familiar with her frustrations due to what she told him earlier about the evil queen stuff a while back. "It's alright princess," Ben says mockingly patting her back. "You damned boy!" the queen yells out, this makes Ben laugh as he got the respawn he wanted. "There you go you not you when you not angry haha" This makes Regina irritated to no end yet done here deep down she's sort of happy about these antics,(is this what it is like to have a friend... I never had one before so j eluding know). Before Ven could mock her more there was interrupted by an irritated Mister Gold." are you guys just about finished with your screenplay"  "Right my bad," Ben said sheepishly, mister gold smiled again as he cleared his through before continuing "Yes as I was saying, 20 years ago is when this all started, but before this was a curse, it started as a romance between 2 individuals" "this peeked Regina as she knew where this was going. "Yes, snow white and Prince Charming and their happy little story that led to the misery and dementia that you're wondering about today". Wow, now that was a mouthful ben never thought he'd be here in this or any life for that matter. He had heard about those figures in fairy tales but he never knew they existed, still, he wasn't surprised,  especially since Henry told him about most of this stuff before. Not to mention he'd already met Regina or the evil queen so he was good on the crazy front.
"Yes everything was happy as can be, that is until then evil qween who was resentful and helpless that she didn't get her happy ending, intervened" This caused Regina to chuckle a bit as she thought of the plans she cooked up to get them back. The atmosphere grew rather serious as Mister Gold began to explain those strings of words.
