Harry and Kahil got ready to leave, this time giving proper goodbyes.

"Oh, Princess," cried Paula. "Please come back safely."

"And don't take too long to return this time," added Ruby.

Some of the maids cried as they helped Harry pack for the journey.

"I'll be safe," she replied. "Don't worry, everyone; I'll be back soon!"

Paula pulled Harry into a hug.

"You better," she said with teary eyes. Paula was making Harry want to cry too. "I will be, Paula."

Hubert watched Kahil get ready as he helped pack his bags. He was nervous when he asked Kahil, "Your Highness, must you go?"

"Don't be ridiculous, Hubert," replied Kahil as he struggled to fix his boots. "I have a score to settle."

The old man looked worried for the injured prince.

"There will always be a score to settle, Your Highness, but it doesn't mean that you always have to settle them. Sometimes you need to let things go."

"I admire your wisdom as always, Hubert, but this isn't a thing to simply let go."

Kahil grunted as he continued to struggle. "You see what's happened to me because of him? I can't even put on my shoes without pain. If there's a score to settle, I'll settle it."

Hubert sighed and shook his head in disappointment. The crown prince wasn't one to easily take someone's advice. He scarcely took Hubert's.

"Your Highness, let me help you."

"Fine, if you can."

Hubert helped Kahil fix his boots, put on his belt, and fasten the rest of his gear. It was a mystery to the old man how Kahil thought he was fit for battle in his state. The boy couldn't even put on his clothes by himself.

"I heard you told His Majesty that you were halfway through recovery."

"So what if I did?"

"Your Highness, you aren't even twenty-five percent recovered."

Kahil hesitated to respond. "If I didn't think I could handle it, I wouldn't be going."

Hubert grabbed Kahil's jacket off the bed and helped him put his arms through it. "I think there's another reason Your Highness is going. Besides getting revenge."

"Oh, yeah?" laughed Kahil. "And what might that be?"

Before Hubert could answer, Kaitlyn, who was standing in the doorway, answered, "You're going because of that girl."

"Your Highness, the first princess!" gasped Hubert in surprise.

"Kaitlyn," called Kahil.

Kaitlyn crossed her arms while giving Kahil a cold smile. "What other reason are you going for?" she asked. "Other than that girl, I mean. You don't do revenge."

"Oh, really?" Kahil asked as he pulled his jacket down. "How would you know that?"

"Because you've never taken revenge on anyone before."

"I haven't?"

Kaitlyn grabbed ahold of Kahil's jacket. "You let that teacher go, and you still haven't done anything to Dad. Be honest, the facts are. Revenge just isn't your thing."

She pulled his jacket down causing pain to shoot up his arms to his shoulder blades. Kahil couldn't hide his pain. A satisfied Kaitlyn let go of his jacket with a smirk.

Kahil watched her walk over in the direction of his desk. "You do realize your only brother is going back off to war again, right? Not to mention he's injured."

He had expected Kaitlyn to be more sympathetic towards him, but instead, she shrugged her shoulders and replied, "What exactly do you want me to do? You'll go whether I say anything to you or not, right? You're beyond convincing."

Kahil wasn't disappointed with her response. She was still mad at him for thinking he chose Harry over her. He let it go and said, "You know, you don't have to start working on my stuff right away?"

"It's fine," she replied. "The sooner I start, the sooner I can get it over with."

Kahil watched Kaitlyn sit down in his chair and begin rummaging through his newest documents. He waited for her to say something to him, some last words of parting, but even after Hubert finished packing his stuff, she still sat scribbling on each document after the next.

"Goodbye, Kaitlyn." This time, he couldn't hide his disappointment.

She didn't say anything, and so he left. He hoped she would get over her anger soon.

Kahil met Harry outside. She was already waiting for him with two horses. The trip would still take eight days, but at least with only the two of them, they could go a little faster. They didn't know if Terrance would join them, but it would be fine even if he didn't. Harry and Kahil were practically glowing with confidence.

"Are you ready?" Kahil asked.

Harry looked at him with a grin on her face. "Of course," she replied.

The two got on their horses and proceeded towards the battlefield. Maybe they had become cocky over the last month away from the battlefield, but for some reason, they both had a good feeling about returning.
