Izuku POV:

I looked at my pill bottle on my desk for a moment before twisting the bottle and popping one into my mouth, swallowing it dry. After having another, yet predictable, quirk incident, he was prescribed these to help with the soreness in his leg.

I set it back onto the desk before sighing. In reality, I felt fine. I had healed nicely, the pain was nonexistent. I just liked how loopy it made me feel. Because of my history of nerve damage, they have been prescribing me Oxycodone, an opioid, to ensure I'd be able to get back to training sooner. It made everything on my mind simply vanish, all the pain physically and emotionally completely gone. I loved it. Maybe a little too much.

"Morning," a soft voice said as I exited my room. I jumped a bit before playing it off with a giggle. "You scared me Sho," I said with a slight blush. Shoto rolled his eyes and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. Shoto smiled down before letting off a quiet chuckle. "Always do," he muttered quietly.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked to me quietly. I bit his lip and nodded. "Good. I knocked out as soon as I hit my bed," I lied. I'd gotten really good at it, masking my exhaustion with cheery smiles and stupid jokes. "I bet. Hard day of training yesterday. How's the leg holding up?" Shoto asked as we walked into the elevator. "Still tender. But that's to be expected. Bone broke through the skin this time," I laughed nervously. Shoto nodded and sighed. "You really need to stop being so reckless. How the hell did black whip go crazy like that? I thought you got it under control," he said with furrowed brows. I chuckled and shrugged.

"I have no idea. One moment I was fine, the next it felt like there was an explosion inside of me and it just- erupted."

I kept his story straight. Every new injury came with a new story, but I was good at keeping up with the lies. This time, black whip went crazy and I shot myself off the top of a building during recovery practice. Resulting in me landing and breaking my leg. It was excruciating, but I was going crazy without the pills. I had to get them one way or another.

"Is there anything we can do to help get it under control fully?" Shoto asked as they walked out of the elevator into the common room. "Not sure. I guess it's just like anyone else getting a quirk. I just gotta figure out how to work it," I mumbled. Shoto nodded and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"Well you keep scaring me, and you need to stop," he grumbled. I giggled and blushed, looking down away from Shoto. "Stone cold Todoroki getting scared? Always something new with this guy!" I heard a tease come from near them. I looked around and saw Kaminari laughing and walking up to them.

"I'm human, of course I get scared," Shoto said plainly. I snorted and looked up at Shoto. "He's being sarcastic."

"Oh, of course. Sorry," Shoto said with dry laugh. Kaminari barked out a laugh and shook his head as he held his stomach. "Awe, don't tease him," I said playfully. Shoto smiled softly at the boy who giggled more.

15 minutes until it kicks in. Just keep up the act. Then it'll all be okay.

I pulled away from Shoto before tiptoeing to place a kiss on his lips. "I'm gonna head to class early, see you in a bit," I smiled towards him.

"Want me to come with?" He asked. I shook my head and smiled. "Nah, it's okay. Grab a granola bar for me," I said before hugging him and started walking away. I heard him talking with Kaminari about a book he was reading and smiled sadly to myself. I exited the common room and inhaled the fresh air sharply.

As I walked the path, clouds flooded the sky, a rich smell of rain coming in. I cursed at myself for leaving my umbrella, knowing it'll rain sooner or later. I shut my eyes as I let my body take me to class, muscle memory engrained by the daily task. "You're early," a voice interrupted my calm, causing me to flinch and turn around quickly. "Oh, Aizawa. I uh- wanted to enjoy the quiet before class," I explained with a smile. Aizawa eyed me for a moment and hummed to himself. "How's your leg?" He asked. I let out a small, breathy laugh.
