Prologue
Heavy footsteps fell onto the ground behind me. Without looking back I pushed myself forward. Trees flew by me as I ran with all my might. Feeling heavy breath come closer to me, I took off in the other direction.
“You can’t run from me forever,” he yelled.
I heard more footsteps join him. He called his friends…will I ever survive?
I can almost see the town lights now. I use the rest of my energy to get there, get help and never have to be next to that lying man ever again.
I can do it, I tell myself. Closer just a few more feet…I can make it!
Something hit me on my left side and I go tumbling down. I closed my eyes as I wrestled with what was on me, trying to escape its grasp. I opened my eyes to see bright crystal blue eyes staring back at me. He smirked at me as I wrestled with him more. I feel tears slip down my face as I hear three other pairs of footsteps come to a stop.
“I told you that you would never escape me,” the liar said to me.
“Let go of me! Just leave me alone! What did I ever do to you and your whack ass friends?” I cried.
“Everything,” he said. Sadness coated his words, along with venom and hatred.
I felt something prick the back of my neck and then the world became very dark…
