Chapter 6
Anastasia’s POV
“Anastasia! Where are you!?” I heard my brother scream.
“Here! Help me please!” I screamed back, trying to pull my leg out from the car.
It flipped over, trapping me and little Abigale in the car. I unclipped her car seat and pushed her out of the window. I smelt something burning, and turned to look at my little sister staring at me, scared, shocked, and confused.
“Run, Abby run! Go to Alex and tell him the ABC said sorry okay?” I said, feeling the warm tears stream down my face.
Looking into my little angel’s eyes, I nodded for her to go and fast. I looked at my leg and tried pulling myself free once more. It wasn’t working- my leg was crushed tightly. I was now sobbing, I could feel the heat and was watching the flames run around the car... that was leaking gas…
I braced myself for the blow…
“Mom, Dad, I tried, I’ve been trying so hard! I’m sorry I let you guys down… I will see you soon hopefully...”
I watched as the flames were gobbling up the gasoline, like Abby, Alex, and I having an eating contest. The flames slowly made it’s was up to the car... I braced myself for the blow once more…
I squeezed my eyes shut… I heard something go BOOM! And let out a blood curling scream…
I jumped up and looked around. I was in an unfamiliar place—that was spinning. I grabbed my head and closed my eyes. I reopened my eyes and groaned—my head hurt a lot.
I looked around me to try and take in my surroundings. The room was large, and dark. From what I could see the walls were painted a dark red color and the comforter on the bed was the same red. I could see a few items of clothing on the floor—thrown in a sloppily manner. It looked like boys clothing. I could make out two, no three doors in the room and four windows covered with curtains. I slowly removed the covers and stood up, carefully—I didn’t want to trip on anything. I walked over to the wall and held onto it as I slowly pulled back one of the curtains.
Soon I had light in the room. I walked over to one of the doors and opened it. It turned out to be a closet. Then, I walked over to the next door and open it. It turned out to lead to a hallway. I slowly and quietly shut the door behind me. I looked around and saw stairs on the other side of the house.
I heard talking coming from downstairs. It sounded like Mason and Adrian talking to Mr. Huntington. Then I heard another voice enter the conversation.
“Yes I am their uncle,” a familiar voice said.
“So, this is a real awkward family reunion for you guys huh? I mean she’s my adoptive daughter, your sister, and your niece… Just a great reunion,” Mr. Huntington said.
“Bill, you know that once she wakes up, she may want to stay here with her brother,” another voice said.
“Yes, well I would imagine she would choose where she wants to go,” Bill or Mr. Huntington said.
“It is her choice, but you do know that even though she is my niece, she may not want to stay with us, she could want someone else,” the familiar voice said.
