Alyssa entered her house and found her brother Tanner and her mom. "Alyssa, where have you been?" Lindsey asked. "I went for a ride on Carmel and bumped into Travis who was outside," Alyssa replied. "He's such a charming cowboy," Lindsey commented. "Yes, he is," Alyssa agreed. "Why is your face all red, Alyssa?" her mom asked. "It's nothing," Alyssa dismissed. "She probably likes the charming cowboy," Tanner teased. "No, I don't, Tanner," Alyssa denied. "You're lying," Tanner accused. Alyssa sighed and walked off to her room. "Why would you say something like that, Tanner?" Lindsey questioned him.

What on earth was that about? Why would Tanner think that I have feelings for Travis? I checked my reflection in the mirror and noticed that my face was flushed. Oh no, that's probably why they suspect I like Travis. I feel so ashamed that I entered the house with a red face. I removed my boots and got into bed. I lay there for a short while, attempting to calm the redness on my face.
