The next morning, Alyssa woke up with a severe stomachache. She could hear her belly making painful growling sounds, causing her to cringe in pain. Alyssa tried to go back to sleep, but her stomach kept waking her up. She lay there, wide awake, while her belly continued to growl painfully. Lindsey, Alyssa's mother, came into the room to check on her. "Are you okay, dear?" Lindsey asked. "No, I don't feel good," Alyssa replied. Concerned, Lindsey asked, "What's wrong, dear?" Alyssa responded, "I have a bad bellyache." Lindsey then asked if Alyssa was hungry, to which she replied, "No, I'm not." However, her stomach growled again. "I think your stomach is telling you that you're hungry," Lindsey suggested. Come on let's get you something to eat Lindsey says to Alyssa. Alyssa gets up and goes downstairs with Lindsey.
