"Holy shit!"

I turn my gaze to the closed door, Valerio's voice sounding muffled as he lets out strings of cuss words to whatever he has going on.

My mind takes me back to when we were at the spa two days ago; his dick digging into my stomach, my breasts flush against his chest, his lust covered eyes, the way his voice seem to drop with every word that leaves his full, plump lips.

I was driven by lust when I shut my eyes as he leaned closer.

What is wrong with me? Why am I suddenly attracted to him? Him of all people?!

I’d never gotten so worked up over a guy before. Hell, I haven't even been so turned on all my life. It must just be the moment, the dim lights, tension and slow, really quiet music playing in the background.

There's no way I'm attracted to Valerio fucking Vin—

"YOU STUPID SHIT!" he yells, his voice booming through the door and a frown settles on my face.

I called him an hour ago to eat dinner that the room service dropped but he just waved me off so I decided to leave him alone but I was so curious as to why he's so worked up.

The door burst open and I jump in my seat, looking at him with wide eyes.

He stands at the entrance of the room with the door wide open, wearing sweatpants and a loose shirt, eyes cold.

I trail my eyes down to his hand and a grin spread across my face when I see the bright pink book in his hands.

"If your plan was to kill me with this stupid book you gave me," he starts, walking towards me. "then it's fucking working."

"Do you like it?" I ask, scooting to one side so he could sit on the same couch which was surprisingly small for both of us.

"We share a love-hate relationship," he shrugs, collecting the plate of food I handed to him. "but I think hate is winning."

"Wait till you find out that's book one in the series." I giggle, watching as his eyes widen in shock.

"There's more books of pain?" he exclaims, checking the page of where he stopped before he closed the book.

"I wouldn't call it book of pain," I correct, pulling the plate of cookies closer to me. "It's more like a chance to escape reality."

"Chance to escape reality my foot," he replies with a scoff and I roll my eyes. "You readers are just delusional."

"Oh please," I sigh, using the remote to control the curtains open. "If I ever fall in love, it'd be with someone like the male character."

"What the—that guy is fucked." he objects, looking at me like I was crazy.

"Who cares? He treats his love interest like a queen, picked love over his father's obsession of the kingdom, he chose her above everyone else, he loved her and made sure she knew it, he didn't force himself on her, he made her come to him and realize her love for him by herself. Now that's a man."
