"The Wren's deal is still up," he informs me, going through the folder in his hands

"The Wren's deal is still up," he informs me, going through the folder in his hands. "Sun's looking up, I have a feeling we'd close that deal. What do you think?"

I couldn't even register what he was saying. All my mind was on how she tasted, how she clenched around my fingers, the rich smell of her arousal, her beautiful aroused face; flushed cheeks, parted lips, heavy lidded eyes.

"Valerio!" Gio snaps, slamming his hand down on the table to get my attention. "Jesus Christ, what are you thinking about?"

I shake away the sexual thoughts of my wife, focusing on work instead.

"Sorry can you recap?" I apologize, looking at Gio who's looking at me with both curiosity and amusement.

"You never zone out at work, and I mean ever," Gio mentions, crossing his ankle over his knee. "Is something going on?"

"It's nothing that concerns you." I retort, averting my gaze from him. "Now I want a recap."

He chuckles, dropping his eyes to the folder in his hands. "The Wren's deal? There are a lot of possibilities for us. Profit, more collaborations, even more land acquisition."

"That's true," I nod, looking down at the folder on my desk. "Any obstacles?"

He nods, flipping a page. "We have a lot of competition, various companies want in on the deal. All over the world."

Of course they would. This type of deal happens every decade. If I can get this deal, it'll go down in the history of my company. I'll do anything just to get this deal. My father never got a deal like this and I'd rather die than lose in the face of my father.

"Any other thing I should know about?" I ask, picking up the worn out lighter. All the label on it has faded and peeled off, leaving only silver metal at its wake. I have absolutely no idea why I carry it around when I don't even smoke, but the history of the lighter is enough for me to keep it with me. I didn't carry it around for three years for nothing.

Gio closed the folder, dropping it on my table before leaning forward. "Yes."

I raise a brow, "If it isn't work then what?"

"I need some time off work."

That's rare. "Why?"

He scratched behind his ear nervously, "It's just for a week."

My eyes narrows at the way he avoided eye contact. "Why?"

"Zahra and I need some time for ourselves. She needs inspiration for her writing and I need time off work."

I chuckle, leaning back on my seat as I watch him. "Gio Russo, I never knew the day you'll ever be in love with someone would come."

He shrugs, "At least I'm no longer a relationship virgin like you'd say."
