The bouquet of colorful flowers shakes against my chest.
I breathe out, trying to soothe my nerves as the lady—Blaire—dressing me up smoothens my wedding gown.
She looks up at me with a small smile and I just stare blankly at her.
"It's normal." she says without looking at me while fixing the end of my wedding dress.
"What?" I ask softly, my voice coming out in barely a whisper.
"Being nervous," she explains with a chuckle. "It's completely normal to feel like running away or feeling like you're doing the wrong thing. But like I said, it's normal."
She stands on her feet, several inches shorter than me but her aura is blinding.
"But your love for your husband prevails over those emotions."
That's the thing. I do not love my husband.
"Thank you." I mutter, trying to blink away the tears brimming at the corner of my eyes.
"Wow, you have to be the prettiest bride I've ever seen." she coos, pressing her palm together in front of her.
My lips wobbles when I look down at my dress. Even if I never thought about marriage, even if I knew I night never get married, this has always been my dream wedding dress and now I'm wearing it for a loveless marriage.
"Don't cry," Blaire takes a step closer before taking one back and moving her hands behind her. "It'd be fine."
"It's just tha—"
The sound of the door opening cuts me short and I turn my head to who entered.
Zahra sprints to me, eyes brim with tears. "Oh my, you're so beautiful."
I smile, "You flatter me."
Blaire give me a wave before leaving the room and my smile drops, making Zahra notice the sudden mood change.
"What's wrong?" she asks, tucking a fallen strand of hair behind my ear.
"Do you think I'm making a big mistake?" I whisper, my grip on the bouquet tightening.
Her face softens when I completed my sentence. "No I don't think so, Isa. Like I've always said and like I'd always say, you need to get the most out of this marriage."
My mind goes to what Valerio said and I shake away the horrible thoughts.
