Sunrise, Spring 1953, Nursery, Ancient White Cats Territory

Millie and Daisy were both frustrated at the fact that they both couldn't go to the gathering.

"I'm just worried for your safety" Daffodil said, roughly licking her kittens' fur. "Daisy is adventurous and only Leo knows what you might do Millie"

"But it's not fair. Every other youngster gets to go" Daisy complained. "Why not us?"

"I already told you and I'll tell you again!" Daffodil snapped. "I'm worried about your safety"

Daisy flattened her ears in anger. Daffodil sighed and licked Millie more. "Why can't you be like Millie?" Daffodil asked. "She knows better and doesn't complain about everything"

Daisy grumbled. "Is she your favorite?" She asked.

"No, I just like her more" Daffodil said. "I love both my kittens and I care for the safety of both of you"

But Daisy's jealousy grew more. She can't believe her own mother prefers Millie, or so she thought.

"Daisy, there's no point in getting jealous" Millie said. "She just said she loves us equally"

Daisy flattened her ears at Millie's comment. Millie and Daffodil both looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

"I think we still should go to the gathering" Daisy said. "It would be so fun to meet the other youngsters! I want to talk to a baby rabbit!"

"No. Not after you running off and pinning rabbits" Daffodil said. "You'll go when you're trainees"

Millie kept her ears flattened as Daisy rolled her eyes. Millie then raised her ears and nuzzled Daffodil.

"Mother's right. We shouldn't go since we were playing roughly and harassing those rabbits" Millie said.

Daisy was left there dumbfounded. She couldn't believe her own sister Millie would go against her like that.

Daisy walked out of the nursery a little and looked outside, she then turned back to Daffodil.

"Mom can we go play outside and explore camp?" Daisy asked with pleading eyes. Hopefully Daffodil will be more forgiving.

"No Daisy. You're staying here in the nursery with me and your sister Millie" Daffodil said sternly. "And get back inside!"

Daisy looked down as she sat next to Daffodil and Millie. She looked up at her mother.

Daffodil kept her stern face, disappointed in Daisy's behaviour. To her, this was not how warriors, mothers, princes, princesses, kings, queens, and elders acted.

So certainly to her, this is now how a youngster should act. Neither should a trainee when the time comes.

"Mother? I'm hungry" Daisy said.

"Now that you mention it, so am I" Millie said.

"It's not the time to eat yet" Daffodil said. "But since I don't wish to hear you guys wait, I'll ask King Michael if I can take something from the prey stack"

Millie and Daisy swished their tails with excitement. They haven't really eaten yet, and they couldn't wait until it's time.

Millie watched as Daffodil padded inside the throne room to speak with King Michael about prey.

"Your majesty, may I take three pieces of prey from the prey stack to give to me and my kittens?" Daffodil asked as she bowed her head.

King Michael nodded. "Mothers have been through caring for their youngsters and giving birth to them" He said. "And the youngsters need to eat a lot. Help yourself"

"Thank you, King Michael. Your service will not be forgotten" Daffodil said as she walked to the prey stack.

Millie didn't catch the conversation and was nervous if King Michael said no. Daffodil was picking a few pieces of prey from the prey stack.

Millie also noticed a couple of warriors returning with prey. Daisy pushed her sister aside to look at Daffodil.

Their mother returned with a few pieces of prey. She was holding a small mouse, not very filling.

She also was holding a big fish and a big frog. She placed the fish for Millie and the frog for Daisy.

"Thanks mom! I'm starving!" Daisy said as she devoured her frog.

Millie looked at her fish. She felt bad that Daffodil only took a small mouse for herself. Her mother ate it in one mouthful.

Millie snapped out of these thoughts and split the fish. She padded to Daffodil and handed her half of it.

"Here, you should eat more. You shouldn't eat less for the sake of us" Millie said.

Daffodil looked at the fish. "Thanks Millie" She said as she ate it slowly.
