_______________________Lucifer's POV:
Lucifer was having a pretty great day in Heaven—that is, until he choked on ice cream. Yup, the mighty king of Hell, master of all things dark and terrifying, nearly met his match in a scoop of vanilla.
But once the ice cream fiasco was under control, things were back to being pretty much perfect. He was strolling through Central Park with Alastor, and honestly, Heaven was even more breathtaking than he’d imagined. The sky was a flawless blue, the flowers were like something out of a dream, and there were ice cream parlors and snack bars on every corner. Water fountains sparkled in the sunlight, completing the picture of pure serenity.
And the best part? He was sharing all of this with Alastor, the love of his life. They were walking hand in hand, and for a moment, everything felt absolutely right.
After a bit of walking, they spotted a bench under a tree and decided to sit for a while.
“How much time do we have left?” Alastor asked, leaning back and taking in the view.
Lucifer pulled out his phone, checking the time. “About 40 minutes,” he said, smiling as he put his phone away.
Alastor grinned, his eyes sparkling as he looked around. “We’ve got time to kill. Let’s explore some more—this place is way too beautiful to just sit around.”
Lucifer nodded, squeezing Alastor’s hand. “Sounds like a plan. Let’s see what else Heaven’s got for us.”
They got up and continued their stroll, passing by serene lakes, vibrant gardens, and charming little cafés. Every turn seemed to reveal something even more stunning than the last, like Heaven was showing off just for them.
At one point, they came across a group of angels playing music by a fountain. The melodies were so enchanting, it was like the air itself was filled with peace and joy. They stopped to listen, swaying gently to the rhythm, lost in the magic of the moment.
Eventually, they decided to grab another round of ice cream—Lucifer went for something less likely to trigger another choking incident. They laughed and joked, savoring the sweetness of the treat and each other’s company.
After wandering a bit more, they found a secluded spot by a gentle stream. The grass was soft beneath them as they sat down, leaning against each other, soaking in the peaceful ambiance.
“This is perfect,” Lucifer murmured, resting his head on Alastor’s shoulder.
“It really is,” Alastor agreed, wrapping his arm around Lucifer. “I’m glad we have this time together.”
They sat there for a while, just enjoying the tranquility and each other’s presence. It felt like nothing could ruin this moment.
But, of course, that’s when things took a turn for the worse.
From the shadows of a nearby alleyway, Lute was watching them, a twisted smirk on her face. She had her spear ready, her eyes locked on Alastor. Seeing him happy, laughing, just made her blood boil. She wanted to destroy Hell, to make Lucifer feel the same pain she did.
She had a plan. As soon as they walked past her hiding spot, she was going to strike and then disappear. It wasn’t exactly genius, but it would get the job done.
Lucifer, oblivious to the danger lurking nearby, noticed Alastor suddenly looking around, his expression tense.
“Is something wrong?” he asked, his voice full of concern.
“No… never mind,” Alastor replied, though his eyes were still darting around. “Let’s keep walking.”
Lucifer wasn’t convinced, but he decided to let it go for now. That turned out to be a terrible decision.
Out of nowhere, a dark figure emerged from the shadows. Before they could react, Lute launched her surprise attack. Alastor took the full force of the hit, crumpling to the ground as he clutched his side in pain. Blood seeped through his fingers, and his face contorted in agony as he realized how serious the injury was.
“Alastor!” Lucifer screamed, dropping to his knees beside him, panic and desperation flooding his voice. He cradled Alastor in his arms, his heart pounding. “Hang in there, please!”
Lute sneered at them, satisfied with the damage she’d caused. “This is just the beginning,” she hissed before vanishing into the shadows as quickly as she’d appeared.
Lucifer didn’t waste a second. He scooped Alastor into his arms and flew toward the nearest hospital in Heaven. The beautiful scenery blurred around him as he focused on one thing: getting Alastor the help he desperately needed.
By the time they reached the hospital, Alastor had passed out. Lute had struck him in the exact same spot he’d been injured before. The doctors quickly took him into surgery, leaving Lucifer in the waiting area, his nerves frayed to the breaking point.
The serene ambiance of Heaven did nothing to calm his anxiety. He sat there, tears streaming down his face, praying with everything he had for Alastor’s recovery.
The minutes felt like hours as he waited for any news, the fear of losing Alastor nearly unbearable. He buried his face in his hands, letting the tears flow freely, his love for Alastor the only thing keeping him from breaking down completely.
