Lucifer's POV:

“If I can help, I’m ready—just promise me Alastor’s safety,” He said, trying to keep the tremor out of my voice , like he was the King of Hell. He was supposed to be unshakable, right?

Sera didn’t answer right away. Instead, she gave him one of those looks—sharp, calculating, like she was deciding whether to trust him with her car keys or banish him to some eternal laundry duty. Finally, she turned to rummage through a drawer, and he had a sinking feeling this was about to get weird.

A few seconds later, she pulled out a small crystal bracelet, all delicate and sparkly. Great, just what he needed—bling from Heaven’s lost and found.

“I’ll make sure Alastor is safe and well taken care of,” she said, her voice as firm as a principal right before they hand you detention. “Lute will be under my supervision until Alastor is back in Hell, safe and sound. Since Alastor’s going to be in the hospital for a bit… I’m giving you this.”

She handed him the bracelet, and he could practically hear the dramatic music playing in the background. It looked ordinary enough, but Lucifer knew better than to trust appearances. Especially in Heaven.

“Wear it,” she instructed, as if he had a choice.

Lucifer slipped the bracelet onto his wrist, half expecting it to zap him or turn him into a snake or something. But nope. It just… fit. Perfectly, like it was custom-made. Still, it didn’t exactly scream “magic artifact.”

“What does it do?” he asked, turning it over, hoping it wouldn’t suddenly announce that it was the key to some ancient prophecy.

“It’ll let you visit Heaven anytime you want,” Sera explained, as if she were handing out backstage passes. “This bracelet isn’t just a ticket to Heaven—it can take you to any place you can imagine.”

“Whoa… okay,” he said, trying not to sound too impressed. “But why are you giving me this?”

“So you can visit Alastor while he’s in the hospital,” Sera replied, all business. “But you’ll return it to me after the mission’s complete.”

Ah, there it was—the catch.

You’d think after centuries of ruling Hell, He'd be used to weird assignments. But Sera was throwing a curveball even he didn’t see coming.

"Hold up. What mission?" he asked, trying to keep his cool. Spoiler alert: he wasn’t cool.

Sera raised an eyebrow like He'd just asked if the sky was blue. "You said you’d help, right? Well, you and Alastor are going on a little mission."

"Wait, why Alastor?" he countered, already imagining him trying to turn this into some bizarre radio show.

"Because," she said, leaning back like she was about to drop some divine wisdom, "he’s more experienced in these matters than anyone I know."

Okay, that didn’t really clear things up, but he went with it. "Alright... but what’s the mission? And how exactly is Alastor more experienced?"

Sera sighed, like explaining basic math to a five-year-old. "Some malevolent spirits have escaped Heaven’s testing facility. You know how God likes to experiment—think Adam and Eve. These spirits are dangerous, capable of possessing humans, and nearly impossible to capture. The only way to stop them is by eliminating the people they’ve possessed."

Lucifef blinked. "So… we’re ghostbusters now?"

"Essentially," Sera replied, as if this was the most normal thing in the world. "Once Alastor is fully recovered, which could take weeks, maybe months, you’ll both come back here."

Great. A mission with a side of imminent doom. "Alright… go on," he said, bracing him self for whatever else she was about to drop.

Sera’s eyes were as cold as a winter morning, and her voice had the warmth of a tax collector.

“After you report back here, I’ll give you a list. A list of people Alastor will track down. And you both will kill those people. This bracelet,” she gestured to the one now snugly around Lucifer’s wrist, “will also allow you to capture the spirits. You’ll do that while Alastor handles the... more final part of the job. Once all the people are dead, you’ll bring the spirits back here.”

Lucifer blinked. This mission was getting darker by the second. “Right... okay, got it. So... do I go now or...?”

Sera didn’t even bother to hide her impatience. “Yes, you may leave. I’ll come up with an excuse for Charlie and Vaggie. You can use the bracelet to leave directly from here.”

Lucifer glanced down at the bracelet again, the crystal gleaming faintly. He thought about Hell—about the hotel—and, just like that, a portal swirled into existence.

“Cool,” he muttered to himself, trying to hide his awe. He’d seen a lot in his time, but magic jewelry still had a way of surprising him.

“Okay... uh, I’ll be back,” he added awkwardly, before stepping into the portal.

He emerged in his room back at the hotel and flopped onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling. His mind raced with the details of the mission ahead. Tracking down people possessed by rogue spirits, hunting them down, capturing the spirits while Alastor... well, took care of the rest.

“This is going to be one crazy mission,” he muttered to himself, the weight of it all settling on his shoulders. But hey, he was Lucifer—if anyone could handle crazy, it was him.
