The Past.....

Prologue~

A light breeze blew part the two people standing still under a tree. Birds chirped, and flowers swayed in the wind. People from the town of Magonlia walked past, talking quietly. Boats left the port, and sailed to faraway places. But for the two people standing under the tree, all that mattered was one thing.

"Natsu, did you know that Lisanna loves talking about you?" Lucy asked teasingly, awkwardly aware of how close they were standing.

"Oh, really? Well, I did spend my childhood years with her, I guess." Natsu replied, scratching his hair.

"You don't mind that?" Lucy asked, surprised.

"Not really. I mean, why would I? People talk about me all the time!" Natsu replied, grinning.

"Not all the time." Happy corrected. He was standing beside Natsu.

"Ya, they mostly talk about Erza and Gray these days." Lucy added, unaware of the effect of her words.

"Gray? They talk about GRAY? Why would they talk about that guy?" Natsu asked, fire coming out of his mouth.

"Of course, not as much as you." Lucy added quickly.

"Aye!" Happy agreed.

"Ha, that's good." Natsu said, satisfied.

"But about Lisanna, who is she exactly?" Lucy asked curiously.

"Why do you wanna know?" Natsu asked, looking at Lucy weirdly.

"Because she's a member of the guild! I seem to be the only one that doesn't know anything about her!" Lucy shrieked.

"Other than Wendy." Happy corrected.

"Wow, I forgot that you just joined like a year ago or something. Lisanna was just a mage at Fairy Tail." Natsu replied.

"I KNOW THAT MUCH! Who is she?" Lucy asked, getting annoyed.

"She's a girl......good at cooking, and very nice. Maybe likes to write books. Hey, she's just like you, Lucy!" Natsu realized.

"She......is?" Lucy asked, not knowing what to say.

"Ya! I think that you, Levy and Lisanna are going to be awesome together! The bookworms!" Natsu commented.

"BOOKWORMS? We're not bookworms!" Lucy protested.

"Says the girl who would read a book in the middle of a fight." Happy added quietly with a smile.

"I HEARD THAT!" Lucy yelled.

"I have a idea! Why don't you go talk to her!" Natsu suddenly suggested, brightening up.

"I don't know where she is....."Lucy replied.

"I'll get her!!" Natsu yelled, speeding away.

Lucy sighed. "Hey Happy, were they really good friends?"

"Who, Lisanna and Natsu? Of course! They raised me, after all!" Happy replied, munching a fish.

"They raised you....? I thought Natsu raised you alone...."Lucy said, confused.

"He found the egg, I think. But he and Lisanna took care of me together. They would even sometimes talk about marrying each other! It was so funnyyyyy~." Happy giggled, before going back to his fish.

"Really?" Lucy asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Wait! Don't tell me! Lucy, are you jealoouuusssss?" Happy asked.

"NO!" Lucy screamed back.

"She is." Happy said quietly, laughing.

"I heard that!" Lucy said.

"We're hereeeeee." Natsu announced, running back. He was dragging Lisanna with him.

"Natsu said that you wanted to talk to me?" Lisanna asked, looking at Lucy curiously.

"Yes, I just wanted to get to know you." Lucy replied.

"She's the only person other than Wendy who doesn't know anything about you." Happy replied.

"Oh, really? Well, it's nice to meet you Lucy-san." Lisanna greeted, extending her hand.

Lucy shook it, smiling. She looked a bit sad, though.

"Natsu, Master was looking for you. Yelled something about the damage you caused on your last job." Lisanna continued, turning to Natsu.

"Aya! Happy, lets run away while we can!!!!" Natsu exclaimed, jumping up.

"Aye!" Happy replied.

"Don't run! Master only wants to talk to you." Lisanna said again.

"Yes but......" Natsu trailed off.

"Do you know how much damage Natsu made on the last job?" Happy asked.

Lisanna laughed. "No, but I can certainly imagine that."

Natsu grinned.

"Natsu, the council is not going to be happy." Happy realized.

Natsu let out a startled yelp. "Aya!!! I'm running away now! Lets go Happy!" He yelled.

"Aye sir!" Happy agreed.

"See ya, Lisanna, Lucy!" Natsu called out, running away. Happy flew after him.

"Wait, Natsu!!!!" Lisanna yelled, but Natsu and Happy already ran away.

"Well, I better go after them." Lisanna sighed.

"Ya, go ahead." Lucy smiled.

"Bye Lucy! It was nice meeting you!" Lisanna shouted out, running after Natsu and Happy.

Lucy slumped to the ground, sad. She felt like she was fading into the background when Natsu and Lisanna talked to each other. But it was only to be expected. After all, Lisanna and Natsu did spend a lot of time together, according to a lot of people.

So what was she? What was Lucy, compared to Lisanna? Lucy was just a girl that arrived way after. Lisanna and Natsu were already great friends.

And Lucy was just a girl shoved into the story afterwards. She was nothing, compared to Lisanna.
