Rivalry?

Lucy's POV

  With Happy and Carla leading the way, our little group made our way to the guild. Aramantha suddenly stopped at the entrance, her eyes clouded.

  "What's wrong?" Erza asked in a strangely gentle voice. I assumed that was a voice that she reserved specifically for little girls like Aramantha.

  "What if......he really is there? I mean......what would I do? What would I say? I've never really seen him before......there's nothing I can do," Aramanatha muttered quickly, looking intently at her hands as if they were the most interesting thing in the world right now.

  "You'll know. You'll just know what to do. It's instincts that'll drive you forward. He's your brother. You shouldn't be scared of him," I answered gently.

  Aramantha blinked once, and then nodded. Before she could say her words of thanks, the guild's doors whipped open.

  "Hello~I thought I smelled all of your lovely perfumes~" Ichiya-senpai sang out loud, spinning and coming to a stop in front of Erza (no surprise there). As usual, Hibiki-kun, Eve-kun, and Ren-kun trailed after him. They were all, as always, sparkling.

  Erza, without saying anything, automatically kicked Ichiro-senpai away. He flew out of sight, screaming "men~~"

  "It's lovely to see you again, Wendy-san," Eve-kun automatically announced, taking Wendy's hand while going on one knee. Wendy looked slightly embarassed at this but before she could do anything, Carla flew at Eve-kun and wacked him on the head with her little fan.

  "Leave Wendy alone!" Carla exclaimed, and Eve-kun yelped, jumping up and stepping a few steps away from Wendy.

  "Lucy-san, you're more beautiful than ever," Hibiki-kun sighed, bowing to me. I blushed, and bit my lip.

  "Same goes for you, Hibiki-kun," I replied, my face burning. Gray, who was beside me, suddenly stomped on Hibiki-kun's foot, glared at him, and looked away just as if nothng had happened.

  Hibiki-kun yelped, and glared back at Gray, "what was that for?!"

  "That was for your greeting," Gray replied snippitly, not saying the exact details.

  "My greeting? I was meerly saying hi to a very close friend," Hibiki-kun defended himself, managing to wink at me in a flirty way in the process. Gray caught this, and shot another glare at Hibiki-kun, but didn't do anything this time.

  "It was an accident," Gray sniffed.

  "An accident?! That was no accident," Hibiki-kun argued back.

  "Yes it was. My foot slipped. It's not my fault your entrance is so slippery," Gray retorted.

  "It is so your fault. If-"

  "Now now, this is supposed to be a friendly reunion. Let's not turn this into another intense fight, shall we?" Ren-kun smoothly interrupted. He himself seemed to be taking advantage of this "friendly" gathering, by replacing Ichiro-senpai's position by Erza's foot.

"Hey, let's not get off-task here!" Natsu agreed, which was probably the first time he had ever agreed with a member of this guild before. 

  "Men~what is your business here today?" Ichiro-senpai asked, standing rather far away from Erza now. I was still impressed that he had managed to recover so quickly, since I've realized Erza kicks rather hard.

  "We are looking for this girl's brother," Happy chirped, flying in circles around Aramantha's head. Aramantha herself still seemed shell-shocked by the greetings of the three men.

  "Oh? A brother, eh? And why do you think he would be here, men?" Ichiro-senpai questioned, looking curiously at the group.

  "We don't. We're just searching every nearby guild around here, and yours just happened to be the first one we passed," Gray replied, still glaring at Hibiki-kun.

  "Oh really? Are you sure it's not because we're just that special~" Hibiki-kun replied with a slight smirk, even though Gray's comment wasn't exactly directed towards him. But to be fair to him, Gray was looking at him while he spoke to Ichiro-senpai.

  "You, special?" Gray scoffed, not bothering to say any more.

  "Gray, remember that we are here as their guests. Watch your manners," Erza said strictly, giving a glare herself to Gray. He instantly cowered, and got his eyes away from Hibiki-kun.

  "Yes ma'am," Gray replied, now glaring at the ground.

  "Now, shall we go inside? You can go look in the process, men," Ichiro-senpai suggested, twirling around Erza once again. She pretended to ignore him.

  "Of course," I replied, since nobody else seemed to have remembered their manners.

  "Let's go," Aramantha tentatively agreed, and we all slowly walked inside.

As you can guess, the main point of this chappie was that moment between Gray and Hibiki-kun ^_^ I feel like I had way too much fun writing that :P
