Lucy's POV
"I'm kinda excited," Aramantha confessed, as we stood around the clearing, "because to be honest, I've never heard anything good about mages until I met all of you."
"Your parents really didn't like us, eh?" Natsu asked, but instead of sounding offended, he seemed rather amused by it.
"Yeah, they didn't," Aramantha agreed, sounding kind of sad in a faint way.
"So why did your brother decide to become a mage?" Gray asked the question that was in all of our minds. But Aramantha's answer made all of us fall silent.
"I have no idea."
"What?" Lyon asked in confusion, as the rest of us failed to say anything. Jura-sama shook his head slightly, and Lyon fell silent as well.
"Come on, this should be a match that we should all look forward to, right?" I asked, hoping I sounded cheerful enough.
"Right! Let's see how strong they've gotten," Jura-sama agreed approvingly.
"Yes, I'm looking forward to it," Aramantha added, seemingly unaware of that awkward silence that had befallen them before.
"You two ready?!" Natsu yelled impatiently at Chelia and Wendy, who were talking to each other excitedly. I guess even though they were about to fight, it didn't seem as important as catching up to what had been happening in each other's lives. It was rather sweet, the friendship that the two of them had.
"Yes, Natsu-san!" Wendy replied promptly, and she walked over to the other side of the clearing.
"I won't go easy on you!" Chelia warned her rather playfully.
"Neither will I. Let's see how much we've grown, Chelia!" Wendy agreed, smiling back at her.
"This is just a friendly match, so no one's going to get hurt," Carla and Happy reasurred Aramantha, who now looked rather scared as the match was about to begin.
"Ok....." Aramantha murmured in reply.
"You ready?" Erza asked commandingly. She, of course, would be the ref of this match, seeing that she was the only one who was fit for that job.
"Yes!" Chelia and Wendy both replied in sync, nodding their heads.
"Then...begin!" Erza commanded.
Chelia smiled at Wendy welcomingly, "why don't you start, Wendy?"
"Ok then, here I go!" Wendy agreed, putting one leg forward, "sky dragon's........roar!"
Wendy blew a hurricane-like blast from her mouth.
"Last time, her roar matched Chelia's bellow right?" I asked, turning to Gray who was the closest to me.
"Yes. And since they've both undoubtly gotten stronger, I think it'll match each other in terms of strength again," Gray agreed.
"Sky god's..........bellow!" Chelia yelled in return, and a powerful tornado-like wind spiraled towards Wendy's roar.
They both collided, and it resulted in the ground and trees around them almost torn from their roots. The audience around them dove for cover.
"This was a bad idea!" Aramantha commented, cowering under a bush.
"Not really. It's nice for two friends to see how much each other has grown, and support each other along the way," Lyon countered, sharing a glance with Gray. The two of them, along with me, were behind the bark of a tree.
