"I don't wanna be the owner of your fantasy/ I just wanna be a part of your family/ And I don't want to talk about anything/ I don't want to talk about anything/ I wanna kiss, kiss your eyes again"
Interviewer: What was it like, seeing them reunite?
Graham Dunne: Oh man, it was better than I thought. You know I'm the type of guy to cry at weddings and stuff, it was definitely a tear jerker.
Billy Dunne: To be honest, I was pretty focused on going to see Cami and the baby. But I was happy for them, I was hoping Ariel would let him back in and that he understood that she was different now.
Eddie Roundtree: They stood there not speaking just holding each other. I was trying to get over the shock of seeing her myself. I mean, he had been really broken by her disappearing and then she was just back.
Karen Sirko: I was really stunned that Ariel North was in my driveway. I'm not one to typically follow celebrities or anything but I always thought she was really chic. I liked her style, I was the only one who only knew her from what I read. And then watching them I remembered that Graham had told me Ariel and Warren had been childhood friends and dated and that it ended really bad, so I started to understand the gravity of it all.
...
"What- Uh, what are you doing here?" Warren asked, pulling back just enough to look Ariel in the eyes.
"Um, it's a long story."
He waited for her to say more but she didn't.
"Right, yeah." He said, breaking the silence. "God, I can't believe you're here." He added putting a hand on her shoulder and tried not to notice how tense she became.
While Ariel greeted Eddie and was introduced to Karen, Warren watched her with concern and surprise. He didn't want to believe anything would be different than it had been before. She was back, this was the happy ending. It had to be.
"Hey," Billy said softly so just Warren could hear. "She's been through a lot, just go easy on her."
Warren wanted to jump to the defensive. Why was Billy Dunne of all people telling him how to be with the girl he loved? But before he could say anything Billy was slipping away to go meet his daughter. He turned to see Graham, Eddie, and Karen talking to Ariel. She seemed smaller. He was reminded of the nervous little girl he first met all those years ago.
Karen Sirko: I remember she was... jumpy. She seemed scared. Every time a car drove by or a neighbor's door slammed she'd flinch and look around like she was waiting for someone to pop out.
Karen watched the way Ariel was trying to listen to what Eddie was saying. Ariel's eyes were flickering around everywhere, everywhere except where Warren stood.
"Hey, do you want to go inside?" Karen asked her.
"Hmm?" Ariel hummed, turning her focus to Karen.
"Do you want to go inside?" Karen repeated.
"Uh, yeah, thank you."
The group made their way inside. Warren fell into the space next to Ariel and reached for her arm to get her attention. He felt her start to pull away before she realized it was him and relaxed, just a little.
"Are you hungry?" He was surprised by his own words because until they came out he had meant to ask can we talk?
"Oh, I don't want to be any trouble." She answered.
