"The scandal was contained/ The bullet had just grazed/ At all costs keep your good name/ You don't get to tell me you feel bad/ Is it a wonder I broke? Let's hear one more joke."
(Recorded News Footage showing the outside of a courthouse, which is crowded by press. A car is shown driving up and stopping by the curb. Out of the car comes first Teddy Huntington, followed by Warren Rojas who pauses by the door to help out Ariel North. The three are all dressed professionally for court.)
Reporter: We are here for another day of trial for the lawsuit against business mogul Richard North and his sons Michael and Christopher North. These men run the telecommunications company known for the last thirty years as NorthStar. Mr. Richard North is the owner of this company while his sons work high ranking positions, particularly for the L.A section of the business.
About a month ago accusations of embezzlement, sexual misconduct, abuse coverups, and unfair payment of workers came to light from none other than Richard North's daughter, model Ariel North. Miss North has claimed that for years she has been physically and verbally abused by her brothers at their father's request. Her wages have been withheld from her and her family supplied her with drugs that lead to an overdose and stint in rehab in November of 1974. She is joined in court today by her attorney Theodore Huntington and rising rockstar Warren Rojas, drummer for The Six. Rojas and North appear to be romantically linked at this time.(Footage switches to an interview with Ariel North outside of the courthouse)
Ariel North: What my family has done is morally and ethically wrong, and I believe the courts will side with me on this. What they have done has not only affected me, taken years from me I won't get back, it has hurt many others. My heart goes out to all the victims of NorthStar and my family. I hope justice is served.
Interviewer: And will you be taking the stand soon?
Ariel North: I can't give exact details but my lawyer and I do fully intend for me to take the stand before the case is over.
Interviewer: Well, you heard it here folks. Miss North will be taking the stand, something that many have speculated will be the final nail in the coffin for this case.
(Footage switches to an interview with Richard North, standing behind him are Christopher and Michael North)
Interviewer: Mr. North do you have anything to say about this?
Richard North: Only that, as a father, I am deeply concerned for my daughter who is clearly not mentally well. As we all know now she has struggled with substance abuse and I simply do not think she is acting with a sound mind. I wish she would realize the pain she is causing all of us, her brothers and I, who have done nothing but try and better her.
Interviewer: And what of the allegations that have come against your company?
Richard North: No. No comment. We're not speaking on that.
(The North men walk out of frame)
...
Warren and Ariel walked inside hand in hand. He was rubbing his thumb over her knuckles soothingly. She had never been so grateful to him. Not only did he make time to be here while recording an album she also had moved in with him. After she had released a statement to the press with the help of Sam, who works in journalism, her family promptly removed her from her apartment. She came home to all her things being put out on the street. Warren and Ariel moved into Billy and Camilla's old room that night.
It had been an excruciating month but Teddy kept telling her it looked promising. She was likely to take the stand within the next session or two, and from there it wouldn't be much longer.
