At this moment, Zhou Yi was in crisis.

After being taken out of the forest by the girl Weiwei, the group traveled for more than an hour before arriving at a small town outside the mountains.

Several elders came forward to greet them and led them into a large courtyard in the town.

"Weiwei, did you encounter any danger on the way?"

"The sudden change in the ancient forbidden area has alarmed the nearby cultivators. Weiwei, did you discover anything?"

As soon as they entered the hall, several elders surrounded them, bombarding Weiwei with questions.

"We didn't find anything special," Weiwei began to answer, but she was interrupted by a startled exclamation.

"Hey! These people, look at them! Look closely at these people," one elder exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock, as if they might pop out of his head.

"They're just some mortals, though their attire is a bit strange... Oh my!" Another elder, who had initially dismissed the group, glanced at Zhou Yi and the others, only to exclaim in surprise himself.

"These people... these people..."

The elders were all drawn in, their eyes fixed on Zhou Yi and his companions as if they were priceless treasures.

"Vitality like a rainbow, spiritual light overflowing, and more importantly, their sea of suffering has already been activated. These are excellent candidates!"

"Hahaha! Good! Good! Good!"

"Weiwei, you are about to leave Lingxu to cultivate at the sacred ground. Before you go, you've found us so many good seedlings. Weiwei, you have done a great service!"

The elders were overjoyed, praising Weiwei while their eyes remained glued to Zhou Yi and the others, filled with admiration.

"Ahem!" An elder stepped forward, giving the group a gentle look, and asked warmly, "Young ones, where do you come from?"

"Sir, we...," Zhou Yi stepped forward, responding to the elder's question. "Our homeland is very far from here. We were exploring an ancient mountain when, suddenly, we found ourselves here without knowing why."

"Hmm," the elder nodded thoughtfully, stroking his beard. "It seems you accidentally stepped into some sort of array and traversed the void to arrive here."

The elder sighed, a look of sympathy crossing his face.

"By your attire, especially your short hair, it seems you follow the customs of the Western Desert. You must be from there. This place is the Eastern Wasteland, separated from the Western Desert by countless miles. It is unlikely you will ever return."

"Why can't we go back?" Zhou Yi asked in surprise, looking at the elder.

"The Eastern Wasteland and the Western Desert are separated by countless miles. Even if I flew at full speed, it would take decades to reach. For you, mere mortals, it is impossible unless..."

The elder paused, giving them a meaningful look. "Unless you can cultivate. If you succeed in your cultivation, such a distance will be nothing."

"Cultivate?"

"Can we all cultivate?"

"That's wonderful! That's wonderful!"

"Please, Master Immortal, take us as disciples."

Understanding the elder's implication, the group couldn't contain their excitement. Flying and immortality—who wouldn't want such things? They eagerly pleaded to be taken as disciples.

"Hahaha! Good! Good!" The elder nodded in satisfaction. "Since you are sincere, I will certainly open the door of convenience for you."

"Thank you, Master Immortal! Thank you!"

The group rejoiced, thanking the elder profusely.

"Hahaha!" The elders, seeing this, laughed happily.

"Master Immortal, I have something to report," Liu Yunzhi suddenly stepped forward, bowing to the leading elder.

"Liu Yunzhi? What is he up to?" Zhou Yi's eyes flickered with unease. "Could he be..."

"Master Immortal, before we arrived here, we found a treasure in an ancient temple," Liu Yunzhi said, turning to Zhou Yi with a cold smile.

"Damn it!" Zhou Yi's face turned pale, realizing Liu Yunzhi's intentions.

"That damn bastard Liu Yunzhi!"

Zhou Yi was furious and anxious, clenching his teeth, wanting to tear Liu Yunzhi apart. Liu Yunzhi's intention was clear: if he couldn't have the treasure, neither could Zhou Yi.

"Haha! Liu Yunzhi's move is ruthless!"

The group saw this and had various thoughts, but most were happy to see Zhou Yi in trouble. They thought, "Serves you right for hogging the benefits and showing off. Now you're in trouble, aren't you? Now you'll have to hand over everything."

"Liu Yunzhi, you..." Li Xiaoman, one of the few not gloating, tried to stop Liu Yunzhi, but it was too late.

"Master Immortal, we found a treasure in that ancient temple," Liu Yunzhi said, pointing to Zhou Yi with a cold smile. "The treasure is with him. Our ability to be here might be related to that treasure."

Liu Yunzhi exaggerated the treasure's abilities, drawing the elders' attention, who were initially uninterested in a few mortals' treasures.

"A treasure that can traverse the void? Such a treasure exists?"

"What kind of great power could forge such a treasure?"

"A treasure like this, once offered to the sacred ground, could exchange for countless elixirs and medicines. It might even advance our cultivation."

With these thoughts, the elders' eyes began to shine.

"Hehe, young man, joining our Lingxu Sect means you are one of us. Hand over the treasure, and we won't treat you unfairly. You might even have the chance to cultivate in the sacred ground like Weiwei," the leading elder said warmly, though his eyes held a different meaning.

"Exactly! Our Lingxu Sect is one of the six great sects of Yan Country, part of a renowned sacred ground in the Eastern Wasteland. Starting with a major contribution, your future will be limitless," another elder added, his eyes gleaming coldly.

"Young man, a treasure that can traverse the void is of no use to you and even little use to us. But in the hands of a sacred ground, it will be invaluable."

"Yes. Holding onto this treasure will only bring you trouble. Hand it over to the sect. What do you say?"

The elders' eyes were fixed on Zhou Yi.

"Damn it! I have no such treasure!" Zhou Yi began to sweat. He had used everything from the ancient temple for exchanges and had nothing left to offer. He couldn't possibly hand over the Taishang Heavenly Book.

"Hmm? Are you unwilling?" The leading elder's face darkened, his gaze turning sharp.

"Young man, think carefully!" Another elder's hand reached for his sword, his face stern.

"Damn it, what should I do?" Zhou Yi was panicking, "Master Ancestor, where are you? I'm doomed!"
