3rd person's P.O.V

A gunshot rang out, piercing the tense silence. Mr. Choi fired towards the sky as a warning, the deafening sound echoing through the empty warehouse.

"I'll fucking do it unless you listen to me," he snarled, his voice dripping with menace as he pressed the cold barrel of the gun back against Winter's temple.

"What do you want?" Karina screamed, her voice cracking as tears streamed down her face. Her anguish was palpable, and Winter's heart shattered at the sight of her beloved in such despair.Winter had never imagined that her life would take such a dark turn. Meeting Karina had been a dream, but now it had spiraled into a nightmare. She was overwhelmed by a profound sense of guilt and helplessness, seeing the person she cherished most in the world breaking down because of her.

Karina's tears were like daggers, each one piercing Winter's soul. The sight of her crying was unbearable, a constant reminder of her own perceived failure. She felt responsible for Karina's pain, the weight of it pressing heavily on her chest.

Her eyes flickered to her grandfather, who stood nearby. He was a shadow of the jovial man she had always known. His usual laughter and warmth were replaced by a desperate anger. His vulnerability in this moment was heart-wrenching, a stark contrast to the strong, smiling figure she had always looked up to.

Winter's own feelings of sadness and self-blame grew with each passing second. She cursed herself for being so naive that fateful night, for not seeing the danger until it was too late. Her mind replayed the moments leading up to her kidnapping, each mistake magnified in her memory.

Outside the warehouse, the air was filled with a suffocating tension, every breath a struggle. Winter's heart ached as she wished she could turn back time, change her actions, and spare Karina and her grandfather this torment. The guilt gnawed at her, an unrelenting beast that refused to be silenced.

Suddenly, a bold and reckless idea sprang into Winter's mind. While she wrestled with the decision, Karina and Mr. Choi continued shouting at each other, their voices echoing in the tense atmosphere.

"Fuck your family! You Yu's are a bunch of snakes. I can't believe you let your granddaughter be with this girl," Mr. Choi sneered, directing his ire towards Winter's grandfather.

"I am not like my father!" Karina shouted back, her voice trembling with emotion. "And even if I were, I would never, ever hurt Winter. I love her too much to do such things! I won't ever hurt her or manipulate her."

"Lies! All you Yu's just lie," Mr. Choi spat, his face contorted with rage as he turned the gun towards Karina.

Before Mr. Choi could take aim, Winter acted on instinct. She elbowed him hard in the stomach, causing him to gasp in pain. The gun went off, but the bullet missed Karina by a hair's breadth.Seizing the opportunity, Winter pushed Mr. Choi to the ground. Her grandfather rushed towards them, desperation etched across his face, as Winter grappled with Mr. Choi, trying to wrest the gun from his grasp.
Winter's grandfather shouted her name, but it was too late.

A gunshot rang out, and Winter looked down at her torso.

"Fuck, that hurts," Winter muttered, her voice strained. She let go of Mr. Choi, who staggered to his feet and attempted to flee. But Karina, driven by a surge of rage and desperation, fired at him. One shot... two... three... four. Each bullet was fueled by her anger and fear.

Winter's grandfather screamed in horror, cradling his granddaughter in his arms. The sound drew Karina's attention. Her rage melted into anguish as she slowly walked towards them, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"W-Winter," she called out weakly, her voice trembling as she took in Winter's condition. Winter's face was scrunched up in pain as her grandfather lifted her into his arms, carrying her in a bridal style.

"R-Rina," Winter whispered, her voice barely audible. Her vision blurred, the last thing she saw was the pained expression on Karina's face before everything went black.

Winter's grandfather rushed towards their car, cradling his unconscious granddaughter in his arms, his men following closely behind. Karina was left behind, stranded beside Mr. Choi's lifeless body.

"It's my fault," Karina sobbed, her voice choked with grief. "I'm s-so sorry, W-Win."

"I didn't protect you," she repeated, her legs giving way as she knelt on the ground. Tears streamed down her face, falling onto the dusty, sandy ground, creating small dark spots in the dirt. Her body shook with the force of her cries, the weight of guilt and sorrow overwhelming her.

Winter's grandfather, holding his granddaughter tightly, glanced back at Karina with a mixture of anguish and desperation. The world seemed to blur around them, the only sounds being Karina's heart-wrenching sobs and the distant echoes of their shattered reality.

Hospital

Everyone gathered outside the operating room, their faces etched with worry and exhaustion. Winter's friends, family, and her lover, Karina, stood together in a tight-knit group, united by their shared fear and hope.

Winter's grandfather paced back and forth, his face pale and his hands trembling. Her friends whispered amongst themselves, their eyes red from crying. Karina sat on a bench, her body hunched over and her hands clasped tightly together, knuckles white from the pressure. Tears still glistened on her cheeks, her mind replaying the harrowing events over and over.

Hours felt like days as they waited for any news. The sterile, cold walls of the hospital seemed to close in on them, amplifying their anxiety. Each passing minute was a test of their endurance, their love for Winter the only thing keeping them grounded.

Finally, the door to the operating room swung open, and a doctor stepped out, his expression grim. The group fell silent, their hearts pounding in their chests as they awaited his words."I'm sorry," the doctor began, his voice heavy with sorrow. "We did everything we could, but... we couldn't save her."

Gasps and cries of anguish filled the hallway. Winter's grandfather collapsed against the wall, his face contorted in grief. Her friends clung to each other, their sobs echoing in the sterile corridor. Karina's world shattered in an instant; she fell to her knees, her heart breaking at the devastating news.
