When Alice woke up, her wife was already nowhere to be found. She clutched the sheets beside her and felt no one. Her eyebrows furrowed, and her eyes opened slowly.
Alice roamed her eyes around her wife's room, a small smile appearing on her face when she caught a glimpse of their wedding picture. She removed the duvet that was covering her body. She was wearing her nightgown again since her wife initiated cleaning her up last night after their session.
As she was about to stand up, the bedroom door opened, revealing Y/N wearing a muscle tee sando with a sports bra underneath, paired with her running shorts.
"Kagigising mo lang?" Y/N asked, going inside the room. The lawyer nodded gently, her eyes focused on her wife's physique. "Nag jog ka?" Alice asked, sitting up. Y/N nodded, sitting beside her wife. Alice stared at her, pouting. "May masakit sa'yo?" the architect asked, her tone much gentler this time.
"Kapag sinabi ko bang meron, iki-kiss mo?" Alice asked, her face serious yet her tone sarcastic.
Y/N nodded again, capturing her wife's lips in a short kiss. Alice giggled, shaking her head to assure the architect that nothing hurt, aside from the fact that she was sore down there. But it was manageable, though.
"What do you want for breakfast?"
"Ikaw," Alice answered, continuing to giggle. Y/N sighed, shaking her head. "Serious kasi."
"Pancakes na lang," Alice answered seriously this time. Y/N nodded, standing up. "Shower lang ako, okay?" the architect said, looking at her wife straight in the eye. Alice nodded, showing Y/N her toothy smile, which, of course, made the architect's heart thump faster. Even faster than while she was jogging and working out earlier.
Alice waited patiently, playing with her phone to pass the time. When her wife finished showering, Alice immediately stood up, whincing when she felt her soreness. Y/N noticed her wife acting like she was limping while they were walking out of the room. "Buhat?"
"'Wag na... Nakakahiya." Y/N's eyebrows scrunched when she heard what her wife just said. "Bakit naman nakakahiya? Kagabi nga hindi ka nahihiya, nag be-beg ka pa," Y/N casually said, carrying her wife in one smooth move.
Alice gasped, shocked by how her wife managed to carry her so easily. When Y/N sat her down on the bar counter, she couldn't stop herself from asking, "Magaan ba ako?" Y/N laughed, shaking her head no. The lawyer put on her grumpy face, acting like she's sulking at what her wife said.
"Sakto lang. Not too heavy, not too light," Y/N explained, grabbing the box of ready-made pancake batter from the pantry. Alice stood up from her seat, going near her wife to hug her back.
"I love you," Alice uttered, burrying her face on Y/N's back. "You know that, right?" she asked, earning a nod from the latter.
"I love you too. More than words can ever explain." Y/N said, turning around to face Alice. The lawyer can already feel herself tearing up again, but her wife is already wiping it to prevent it from rolling down her cheek.
"Ang emotional ko talaga palagi," Alice said, laughing afterwards. Y/N fixed the stray hair that fell on her wife's face, then captured her lips in a soft kiss after. "Sige na, umupo ka na do'n."
Alice obeyed, but before leaving, she stole a kiss from her wife once again. Y/N just giggled before continuing whatever she was doing earlier before her wife went to her.
When Y/N finished cooking, she approached her wife, who was busy talking to someone on her phone. Maybe a client. Alice smiled at her and mouthed a small thank-you since she was still on the phone. Y/N decided to make her wife and herself a cup of coffee since, as Alice said in one of her interviews before, "Kapag wala akong coffee, hindi ako makakapagtrabaho."
Exactly after Y/N finished making their coffee, Alice also finished talking to her client on the phone. "Wow! Thank you for the coffee, wifey." she exclaimed, hugging Y/N's side. The architect planted a small kiss on her wife's forehead before starting to eat.

When it was time for them to go home, Y/N noticed that her wife was spacing out so much. And when she tries to talk to her, the lawyer will simply respond to her with one word or short sentences.
They were now driving back to their house, with Y/N still trying to start a conversation with her wife. Alice just responded to her with a nod, still spacing out while looking outside the window of her seat.
The architect gave up, sighing, then just continued to drive, maintaining the silence. "Baka wala lang sa mood." Y/N thought to herself while driving. When they arrived at their house, Alice didn't say anything to Y/N and just proceeded to go upstairs to her own respective room.
It made Y/N more confused as to why her wife was acting this way. The architect decided to give her wife some space since she really didn't know why her wife was acting grumpy and serious all of a sudden.
After a while since they arrived, Y/N wanted to check up on her wife. She knocked on the door of Alice's bedroom, but no one responded. Y/N sighed, really growing nervous this time. She really didn't have a clue why her wife was doing this. Was she upset that Y/N didn't wake her up earlier when she got out of the unit to jog and work out?
The architect went downstairs. sitting down on their sofa. She stared at her reflection on the television, still thinking about what could be the reason why her wife was grumpy towards her.
She opened her phone, then opened her messages. She left her phone with Alice earlier when she went inside her office to respond to some emails that were sent to her the previous day.
When the messages app finally opened, she scrolled for a while to check on the messages that were sent to her earlier while she was working.
"Putangina," she cursed to herself when she saw a familiar message in her inbox. She could feel the frustration and anger rising inside her body when she saw that familiar name. She threw her phone away and covered her face with her palms.
"Ito ata 'yung rason. Putangina talaga." Y/N muttered to herself.
