Black Widow Chapter Fifteen: Beach Club

To Sloane, Aisha's beach club seemed like the height of luxury. Complimentary drinks and food were provided for the members along with robes, beach towels, and flip-flops. Sloane took advantage of all of those. Before they even got to the pool area, she had a cookie from the buffet and some kind of smoothie with a little parasol in the glass in her hands.

This was the type of stuff she saw online and in shows as a kid and dreamed she could one day have. A giant mansion, membership of all those Country and Beach Clubs, people other than her to clean the house, luxury foods. All that expensive stuff.

"Okay, this is not the beach," Tory declared as they walked onto the balcony. "Where are the homeless dudes on rollerblades and the guys shoving shitty hip-hop demos in your face?"

Aisha chuckled. "No, don't worry. They'll come after they pass out hors d'oeuvres," she quipped.

"Have the waiters sent some over to our private lounge," Sloane joked and dramatically tossed her hair back as she headed down the stairs. Apparently, this was going to entirely be a girls day. First her hangout with Moon and now this? She was finally starting to move toward the social life of a regular teen. None of them could ever replace Demetri and Eli, of course, but she liked being liked.

Now that she was becoming more popular, she wouldn't have to deal with that 'Psycho' bullshit ever again. She might actually enjoy going to school for once.

"I'm gonna go get us something to drink," Tory told the girls once they reached the bottom of the stairs. She split off and headed for the bar.

"I'll go reserve a spot," Sloane said to Aisha before going her own way as well. She managed to score one of the last free tables on the lower balcony. She put their towels down on the chairs and sat down.

While she waited, she took a look at her nails. Somehow, they had survived the training and still looked to be in tip-top shape. She took a sip of her smoothie and before she knew it, Aisha stood in front of her with Sam.

"Hey. Hope it's okay if Sam joins us," Aisha said, though she was more asking for permission than informing her.

"Uh, sure," Sloane answered hesitantly and moved one of the towels so Sam could sit down.

Sam gave her a small, polite smile. "Hi," she said while sitting down. "I, uh...I like your necklace."

Sloane reached up and fiddled with the flower charm on the gold necklace. "Thanks."

"Hey!" Tory called while she approached their table. "Look what I got." She pulled a bottle of vodka out of her bag just far enough for them to read the label.

Aisha's eyes widened in surprise. "Where'd you get that?"

"I swiped it from the bar," Tory explained with a shrug. She rolled her eyes when she saw Sam and Aisha's judgemental looks. "Oh, relax. All the adults are getting wasted. No one's gonna notice if we have a little fun."
