It was already afternoon, and a sense of nostalgia filled my office. The sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting gentle shadows across the room."

I closed my eyes while resting on the couch in my office. When my phone buzzed. AGAIN

I felt a sudden annoyance. However, upon seeing it was a message from Alice asking if I am free for the dinner date she had planned earlier, I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach. I quickly replied, saying yes, I could go with her, and asked Alice where the location would be.

Alice POV:

Alice stared at her phone, the words on the screen blurring slightly as she read and reread the message she had just sent to the Senator. Her fingers hovered over the screen, and she felt a rush of nervousness flood her body.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. “Pa'no kung ayaw n'ya? Or worse, what if she thinks it’s inappropriate?” Alice muttered to herself, pacing her office.

Her phone buzzed, and she almost dropped it in her haste to see the reply. Sen. Blaire’s response was prompt and warm.

Alice felt a mix of relief and renewed anxiety

Alice felt a mix of relief and renewed anxiety. “Alright, Alice. You’ve got this,” she whispered to herself as she prepared for the evening.

Sen. Blaire POV:

When Alice responded that she wanted to have dinner at my house, I felt a sudden shock after she read the reply but for a moment, my mind raced. My home had always been my sanctuary, a place I kept separate from my public life. Inviting Alice there felt like crossing an invisible line. But the excitement and curiosity about spending time with Alice in a more personal setting outweighed my hesitation.

After a deep breath, I texted back, agreeing to the plan and suggesting a time. As she sent the message, I couldn't help but wonder what the evening would bring.

Would it be a simple dinner, or would it reveal deeper layers of their evolving connection?

She fix her things in her table and leave her office heading straight to the parking lot. As she make her way, she bumped into Sen. Risa, she apologized and continue to walk but she called her name, so she turn to her and smile.

"Hey, tita... what's up?"

"Ang formal ha, 'di ako sanay na nilalampasan mo lang ako. Bakit ang aga mo umuwi? Nagmamadali ka pa, may emergency ba?"
