Meeting New Friends
Pagkatapos ng huli naming klase, tinawagan ko si Kuya Tobias.
After the second beat he answered. "Yes baby Ela?"
"Kuya, malalate ako ng uwi. I'll hang out with my new friend."
"Wait, you had a new friend that easily?!" Sigaw niya sa kabilang linya.
"Oo naman kuya palibhasa kasi distant ka sa kabihasnan kaya hindi ka nagkakaroon ng bagong kaibigan." I spite.
"Fine. Call me when your finish, I'll get you." He calmly said.
Napangiti ako. Kuya may be a cold person but he is protective to the people he loves.
"Okay kuya, I'll call you later. Bye bye." Then I hung up.
Sumakay kami ng taxi papunta sa usual na tambayan daw nila. Ken told me that the place is a cafe and one of his friend's family own the place. He told me that his some of his friends are college students and the others are the same as us.
Kinuwento niya sa akin kung paano sila nagkakilala. Habang nagkukwento siya ay nakangiti siya at minsan tumatawa.
I felt pang on my chest. Sa hindi malamang dahilan ay nakaramdam ako ng inggit.
He had so many friends to make memories with habang ako... my only 2 friends, betrayed me.
Ngumiti ako para hindi niya mapansin ang pag-iba ng mood ko.
Huminto siya sa pagkwento sa akin at tinitigan niya ako ng masinsinan.
Nagtataka akong tumingin sa kanya.
"Are you okay? About me telling you about my friends?" Sincero niyang tanong.
I nodded. "Okay lang ako." I lied. "I like to listen to your story with your friends." It is actually true, I like to hear stories a lot even if it hurts me.
"Well, mamaya na naman ako magkwento dahil andito na tayo." He happily said.
Ako na sana ang magbabayad pero he insisted na siya na ang magbayad dahil siya rin naman ang nag-invite sa akin gusto ko sanang magrefuse pero mukhang seryoso siya kaya sumang-ayon na lang ako.
Tumingin ako sa signage ng cafe. Cali Cafe, ito ang pangalan ng cafe. It is a three storey building. There are vines clung to the bricks of the building and I can see on the large glass pane that there are many people inside.
Pagpasok namin ay sumalubong sa amin ang bango ng kape. The interior design looks cozy with its wood decor that compliments the dark paint on the walls. They have a live plants in which gives a natural look. Overall it is a nice place to study or even hang out with friends.
Sumunod ako kay Ken lumapit sa counter.
"Hi tita!" Ken greet to the woman on the counter.
"Hi Ken!" At nagbeso sila.
"Uhm tita, I'd like you to meet my friend Elara." Ken introduced me to her.
I smiled at her. "Magandang hapon po." I greeted.
"Ang ganda ganda mo naman iha. *Gasp* Don't tell me ginayuma mo siya Ken!" She gasped.
Mahina akong napatawa sa sinabi niya.
Ken roll his eyes. "Tita mukha ba akong nanggagayuma, alam mo naman iba ang type ko.I told you diba na she's my friend. Anyways, nandito na po ba silang Janice?"
"Oo ikaw na lang daw ang hinihintay nila. Puntahan niyo na sila sa itaas, dadalhan ko kayo ng snacks mamaya." Aniya.
"Sige tita. Let's go Elara." Tawag niya sa akin at una na siyang naglakad patungong itaas.
