Hanging Out With Them
"Uhm may mali ba silang ginawa?" Nagtataka kong tanong.
Natauhan si Cheska at iwinagayway ang kamay niya habang umiling. "Hindi, hindi niyan ang ibig sabihin ko. Kilala kasi sila sa university bilang 'the gifted twins' dahil sa taglay nilang intelligence at beauty."
Napatingin ako kay Felix na biglang tumayo at naglakad papuntang hagdanan na walang pasabi.
"Hoy Faye, saan ka papunta?" Tanong ni Riri.
Huminto siya pero hindi siya tumingin sa amin. "May gagawin pa ako." Yan lang ang sinabi niya at naglakad pababa.
Ken sighed. "Pasensya ka na sa kanya Elara, hindi naman siya ganyan palagi. Baka masama ang pakiramdam niya." He explained.
I smiled and shake my head. "No, it's alright. He may be very busy."
"Or..." Napatingin kami kay Ada na nagsalita. "...heartbroken ang gaga."
"What do you mean?" Nagtatakang tanong ni Ken.
"Well, diba alam niyo na may long time crush si Faye?" Sabi ni Ada.
"Oo, I remember his name is..." Riri looks like he remember something and gasped. He then look at me intently. "Elara you said your kuya is Tobias right? And he is courting someone, right?" Tanong niya habang nakatingin sa akin ng seryoso.
Napatingin sila sa akin lahat ng seryoso.
I awkwardly nod my head and hum.
Riri covers his mouth as if shock to know the truth. Cheska covers her face. Riri stomped on the floor as if he didn't win the lottery. Janice shakes her head and Ken look at me sadly.
"Tumpak! Broken hearted nga talaga ang bakla!" He exclaim.
"Korak ka bakla." Cheska agreed.
"Huh?" I cluelessly asked. I didn't quite catch the topic .
"Well, my dear beautiful friend Elara, Faye had a huge crush on your kuya Tobias. That bakla surely magka-crayola haggang sa magmukha siyang ogre." Riri explained.
Nalungkot ako sa sinabi niya. Crush niya si kuya. I don't know why but I felt my heart crushed. First time ko pa nga siya nakita pero bakit nakaramdam ako ng ganito? Is it out of pity dahil malapit na magkapareho kami ng pinagdaanan?
"Guys, we shouldn't be like that infront sa guest natin." Saway ni Janice kanila. Tumingin siya sa akin. "I'm sorry about this Elara, minsan ang oa lang talaga ng mga kaibigan ko." She sincerely apologize.
"I'm sorry Elara. Si Ada kasi..." Sisi ni Cheska.
Tumaas ang kilay ni Ada at nagcross arms. "At bakit naman ako? Ikaw sa atin ang chikadora."
"Excuse me?!" Galit na sabi ni Cheska at tumayo.
"You're excused." Malditang sagot ni Ada.
Pinigilan nina Janice at Riri si Cheska na suntukin si Ada at mapaglarong nakatingin sa kanya.
"Pasensya sa kanilang ugali Elara, ganyan talaga silang Cheska at Ada palaging nagbabardagulan kung nagkikita." Ken explained.
Actually, hindi naman ako na-offend dahil sa ginawa nila, I find it---amusing. I never had this interaction with Sandra and Aiden.
I look at the four of them, I see true friendship.
Tumingin ako kay Ken at ngumiti. "Ayos lang." I look at them again and said, "You had good friends Ken. I see why you love them alot."
"I---" hindi natapos ang sasabihin ni Ken ng biglang tumunog ang phone ko. Kinuha ko ito sa bag and I see that kuya Tobias is calling.
"I'm sorry, I have to take this call." I hurriedly said.
He nod. I run to the corner and answer the call. "Kuya?"
"Malapit na mag-six, nasaan ka ?" He asked.
"Really?" At tiningnan ko sa phone ko. Shocks! Malapit na nga mag-alas sais. "I'm sorry, I forgot about the time kuya. Nandito ako sa Cali Cafe."
"Okay. Papunta na ako diyan. I'll be there atleast 10 minutes." Sabi ni Kuya.
"Sige kuya, see you later." I hang up and return to the seat beside Ken. They all seems agree their to stop the conflict.
"Tumawag ang kuya ko na susunduin na daw niya ako. Mauna na ako ha ."
"What? Can you wait for the drinks, pretty please?" Cheska plead and speaking of which, dumating si tita na may dalang drinks at snack.
"Nandito na ang foods guyses!" Masayang bati ni tita sa amin.
Inilapag niya ang tray sa mesa na sa harapan namin.
"Bakit ka nakatayo iha? Uuwi ka na?" Tanong ni tita sa akin.
"Uh, I guess I can stay for a couple of minutes." I smiled then I sit down.
"Okay lang ba iha sayo ang chocolate drink? Hindi kasi ako iniinform ni Ken kung ano ang gusto?"
Napatingin ako ka so chocolate drink na ibinigay niya sa akin at ngumiti pabalik sa kanya. "I like chocolate po. Thank you po."
She smiled at me. "Good to know. Osiya, mauna na ako dahil busy sa ibaba."
Isa-isa kaming nagpasalamat kay tita at bumaba na siya.
I sip and I feel that my body gets hug by soft teddy bears. It's so delicious!
We talked about how delicious the drinks are on my remaining time. Laughter surrounds us while talking. It felt so good to talk with them.
Couple minutes have past and kuya called back. He said he is outside so I bid my farewell to them. They said that they'll escort me outside 'cause they are curious how my brother look like to make swoon over him.
Lumabas kami at nakita namin ang kuya ko na nakasandal sa mustang niya habang ang dalawang butones ng blue long sleeves polo shirt ay bukas and his wavy hair disheveled by the wind. He is looking on his phone so he did not he see us coming out.
"Shit! No wonder head over heels si Faye sa kanya." Tulalang sabi ni Riri.
Kuya might've heard Riri kaya tumingin siya sa amin at ngumiti.
"Ang gwapo naman ng kuya mo Elara. Ang sarap tingnan!" Kilig na hiyaw ni Ada.
"Haha, thanks. Thank you guys for today."
"Balik ka rito bukas ha? We like to hang out with you more." Janice said.
My hearts warms because of what she said.
I nodded and smile. "Babalik ako bukas! See you!!" Paalam ko sa kanila at pumasok na sa sasakyan.
Kuya entered on the driver seat and turning on the engine. I look back at them and wave at them happily. They wave back then the car started to run.
Hindi mawala ang ngiti nang umupo ako ng maayos.
"It's good to see that you meet new friends." Kuya commented.
"Yes kuya. They looks like very good friends. I'd like to know them more." I happily said.
Tumingin ako sa labas ng sasakyan then I remember Felix. Ayos lang kaya siya? I gaze at kuya. My kuya is a handsome and intelligent man but he is a cold person. I wonder how that woman he is courting melt the ice around his cold character.
Gusto ko sanang tanungin siya tungkol sa babaeng nililigawan niya pero napaisip ako tsaka ko na siya tatanungin kung sasagutin na siya nito.
Ibinalik ko ang tingin ko sa labas. The skies looks so beautiful as if it was a painting. Too bad some can't appreciate it because of the negative feelings they've grown at this moment of time.
