Chapter 18
Tita Lydia
Its been almost a month since nangyari yun at ang pagkikita namin. He's been busy in this past weeks since marami silang pending quizes and projects to pass before ang exam week .
I have also been busy within this month dahil malapit na rin ang examination day. Tapos na ang exam namin kaya maaga ang break namin since malapit na ang Christmas at New Year.
They still haven't finish yet and I kinda miss him. Sabi ni Ate Tat is next next week pa ang bakasyon nila.
As much as I want to meet Ken and the other gang I can't since nagkanya kanya sila nag bonding with their family.
Ada, Cheska and Riri ay sa ibang bansa nagbakasyon. Ang iba naman ay dito lang sa Pinas.
Gusto kong pumunta sa Italy pero tinatamad ako dahil wala akong kasama.
Andito ako ngayon sa bahay nakahilata, thinking of what I do today.
Hmmm... What should I do today?
Magpicnic na lang kaya ako. Tumpak! Yun na lang ang gagawin ko!
I ask Manang Minda, our cook, to prepare cupcake and cookies. Hindi naman marami ang pinagagawa ko since ako lang naman mag isa.
I wear a blue and white floral print cami dress. As for my hair, I choose to curl it and put a french hairscarf.
Kumuha ako ng picnic basket. I put blanket, a book, pencil, acrylic paints, airpod and a sketchpad.
Bumaba na ako at kinuha ang cookies and cupcakes at nagpaalam na sa park lang ako tatambay.
Naglakad lang ako papunta sa park since dito lang naman sa loob ng subdivision.
It's a 15 minute walk and I have arrived at the park. This park---this is where Sandra met, build our friendship, and promise to be together forever. This thought tastes so sour. I may still not move on, but I know that I'll forget this feeling later in life.
I bring back my composure and enter the park. Medyo marami ang nasa park. There are family who bond together, friends who play hide and seek, and lovers who wants to spend this time together.
I place my blanket under a Molave tree. Umupo ako at nilabas ko ang pencil and sketchpad. I plug my airpod on my ears and I choose a mellow song to listen to.
I look around at my surroundings to look anything to sketch. My eyes paused on an middle age woman wearing a bright yellow dress, her hair streaks of silver, and she holds a lace parasol while looking at the sky.
She's perfect! I should paint her!
It takes many minutes before she look down and walk towards a bench.
I pack up my things and take up the courage to walk towards her.
Huminto ako sa harapan at tiningnan niya ako ng puno ng pagtataka.
"Uh hi? How may I help you?" She asked.
"Uhm, You don't know me, but can I ask you for a favor?" I requested while giving her a look of plea.
"What is it?" She asked and softly smile.
"Can I paint you po, please."
She looks shock of my request but her reaction quickly change into a smile. "Sure why not."
"Are you sure po?" I ask just to make sure she is alright about me paint her.
She nodded and smiled assuringly. She point the chair infront of her. "Yes dear. Umupo ka muna."
