Chapter 24- Who Am I?

I can't help but to think about all that's happened. It's real. This world is actually real. My first mission was crazy...even if we succeeded.

"Chibi?" Tsuki says with a soft voice. She runs up close beside me. I couldn't even look at her. "Chibi...it's alright. We won" she whispers.
I softly smiled.
Maybe she's right...so then why do I feel this way?
Like something's not right?

We finally get to Commander Lee's office and right before Tsuki could knock, it flies open. "About time! Welcome back soldiers!!" Commander Lee shouts. We all froze and look at him.
That crazy ass bastard.
"Don't just stand there. Come in!" He shouts again. We all look to each other and walk in. Monsai closes the door behind us and we all walk up to his desk. Saki, the assistant, just stands beside him as he sits.
"So, this is where you tell me how the mission went" Lee says calmly.
No one says anything. "Well? I heard Diego has been caught" he says again. "Indeed. That is correct" Monsai quickly spits out. I slowly look at him and he doesn't flinch.
"and how did that go? How'd you guys do it?" Commander Lee says softly.
"Together!" I blurt out. Oh shit!
Commander Lee looks to me and sighs.
"So nothing went wrong? Right? Everyone stayed on track?" Lee says. I nod my head quickly. "Well good job guys! Come back tomorrow afternoon for more. I'm going in to question "El Diablo" tomorrow morning but until then, get some rest guys" he blurts out. He then quickly closes the file and hands it over to Saki.
                   Tsuki, Kash and Monsai start to walk out. I didn't move a muscle. Commander Lee slowly looks up at me, "Something wrong Chibi?" he whispers.
      I take a deep breath and blurt out,
"Is something wrong? Are you serious right now? You sent us on a mission that was dangerous! We didn't just catch a follower..we caught A LEADER! Diego is no joke! You don't know what we had to go through to bring him here-!"
I instantly stop and his eyes widen.
            Then he stands up and now he's looking over me. "I'm sorry-" I try to say but he cuts me off.
"Chibi. You should go home and get some rest. Your papa is worried about you" he says quietly. Kash instantly walks up and places his hand on my shoulder. I throw back my arm and storm out of the room, "Screw this!" I shout.

        Who does he think he is? Sending us out there like we're dogs! Diego isn't just some nobody. He's dangerous...and scary. As the sun starts to set I head to my home. Maybe some rest will do me justice. That's what everyone is saying anyways.
"Stop you little bitch!" someone yells behind me. Little? I go to turn around, "Excuse me? Who the hell-"
                                Waffle instantly runs into me then gets behind me. "Waffle??!" I whisper, "What are you doing?" Her body shakes as she grabs my arm, hiding. I turn forward and see three teens a little older than her.
"Hey hey now! Sorry about that! We're just here to take my little sister back home. She's mad that mom wanted her to eat all her vegetables. Little kids these days right?" The teen boy in front says calmly.
Sister? I didn't know she had any siblings. "Oh yeah?" I shout, "It doesn't seem that way to me. Ya know why? Because she's MY SISTER!" I take a step forward and the three of them scatter. I quickly then turn to Waffle.
"Waffle? What was that?" I say softly.
She lets out a deep breath, "Those boys I beat up? Well those are the older brothers..." she says softly. "What?!" Don't you have like- someone- someone who can help?" I quickly say. She then lets go of my arm and steps back. "You're right" she says quickly, then runs off. "No wait!" I shout.
Then she's gone.
Strange.

I sigh and continue walking home. My home. The one place that I should be able to feel the safest, the most peace. I'm afraid that I'm starting to wonder what my place is in this world. I thought I knew. Is it to be a strong warrior? To protect my friends? What?!
I want to protect those who can't protect themselves but how can I when I can hardly protect myself...Am I really weak?
Those two men...tried to hurt me...and I couldn't do a damn thing about it!

I start to pick up my pace and tears flow out my eyes. Oh stop it Chibi.         Enough crying all the time.
"Chibi wait.." someone yells out to me. Hold on one minute...is that Tsuki?! I turn around and there she is. Our eyes meet and we stand there across from one another. Tsuki instantly runs to me and grabs me. Holding me tight. The waterworks only get worse. "Tsuki I don't know what to do anymore...I can't stop thinking about what happened in that town...I felt so weak and that scares me..." I say softly.
"It's alright Chibi" she whispers, "I promise I won't let anyone hurt you okay?!" I nod and we stand still as time passes by.

                 "I wanted to check on you because I felt that something wasn't right. As you know, I have to get back to my...mother now. Chibi, I promise you will get through this. You're strong" she says softly to me as she wipes my eyes. She's always done that. Wipes my tears away. I love her.
  "Thank you Tsuki...I don't know what I'd do without you" I say to her.
She smiles, "See you tomorrow. Make sure to get all the rest you need and eat something! An actual meal!" she snaps. She taps my nose and then goes towards her home.

Here we go. Time to see papa. As I get closer to home, I can see him standing outside. Talking with someone? I run over and it's....Kash.
"Pa?" I say awkwardly and Kash's eyes immediately get wide.
"Chibi! There you are!" My pa shouts and holds me tight, "Your buddy was just telling me all about the mission. Sorry, I just had to ask!"
"Oh did he?" I say sarcastically.
"Yes! I'm so proud of you! All of you!" My pa shouts out.
I glance at Kash and he gives me a soft smile. "Alright well I should really eat something and rest-" I quickly say as I aim for the door.
"Wait Chibi, slow down. I actually already prepared a meal for us tonight" he quickly says. "Perfect! Let's get to it then!" I say. As he goes to walk in the house after me he suddenly stops. "Wait..Kash is it? Why don't you have dinner with us?" My papa says softy. Kash quickly turns to me and glances back at him, "Actually I was probably gonna just get some rest" Kash quickly says.
"No no. My treat! Come on in! My pa says happily. Kash nods his head and follows us in.
As if this wasn't already awkward.

We walk into the kitchen and my papa already has the food set out. He grabs an extra plate and fork for Kash and we sit down. As we look down, the spread couldn't have been better! He made baked potatoes, BBQ ribs, steaks, salad, chicken and rice and some desserts.
Whoa....he definitely has too much free time these days. Me and Kash then look at all the food and look back at each other, eyes wide open.

We immediately dig in.
