Chapter 27: Truth About The Light

What is this world?
What is this town?
We have so many people here. Everyone is different.
What about me? Am I? Different?
Sometimes it feels like I don't even know myself....Chibi.

As I walk into the hospital, my papa shouts, "Oh Chibi! There you are!" The front desk lady looks to me, "Oh dear! We need to get you checked right away!" she shouts. I glance at my shoulder, oh right..
"Y-yes! Exactly!" I say nervously.
        My papas eyes fill with worry, "Don't worry pa. They barely got me" I say softly as I smile at him. He smiles and nods his head.

               When I get into my room and I'm all fixed up, one more person comes into the room I wait in.
She's one of the healers. Looks new.
Her long hair is pinned up in a ponytail, gold, is the color. Eyes sparkle, light blue, and her voice moves like the ocean.
"Hello" she speaks softly glancing at her clipboard, "Chibi..Tsuyoi?"
I hesitate. She's just so beautiful. Everything about her.
         "Are you feeling alright Chibi?" she speaks again, but with worry.
"Oh! Y-yes! I'm feeling so much better now!" I quickly shriek. She smiles at me and I GULP!
She walks closer towards me as I sit on the bed, "That's wonderful to hear. Your grandfather is pacing back and forth in the waiting room" she whispers. My eyes widen and she giggles. "Don't worry" she says softly, "One of the other healers is helping him. We try keeping all of our patients calm."
I take my hands from under my thighs and place them on top of my legs. She quickly notices them.
"Your hand" she says softly picking it up, "Did they check this out too? I didn't see it in the notes?"
           I pull back my hand. The one Diego almost broke....
                "Yeah-no. This one's okay. Just my shoulder. Nothing major" I say calmly. She tilts her head in confusion and then sighs. "I see" she says quietly, "Sorry-I almost forgot. I just started here this year as one of the new healers. My name is Midna. Nice to meet you"

Midna.
That's beautiful.
"Nice to meet you too. It's great to see more healers around. Besides, it can get crazy in Norrah sometimes" I say calmly.
She smiles then raises her eyebrow,
"So I see" she says sarcastically and then starts to laugh.
I laugh as well.
She's nice. Midna.

          "Safe to safe, you're free to go Chibi. Please take it easy on yourself. From what I hear, you're strong. Just don't overdo it" she says softly as she glances at my hand. I place the other hand on top, "Sure-absolutely Midna" I whisper.
She smiles and then walks out, leaving the door open.

         That's right...Commander Lee! I forgot the real reason I am here! As I lean out of the doorway, I look both ways. I have to find which room Commander Lee is in.
                 When I head down the hall I pass by a room...there! I quietly walk in.
"Commander?" I say softly.
As I walk to the bed, no answer. "Hello? Commander? It's Chibi!" I try again. Still nothing. Looks like he's unconscious. Makes sense.
      Apparently them guys got him pretty good after the bomb went off. He was standing right there....shit.
        "Excuse me?!" an angry voice shouts from behind me.
I turn around fast as heck, a worker! Damnnn! "What are you doing in here!? Visitors hours are over!" she shouts. I glance at The Commander then back at her, "Gotta go now!" I shriek.
        I dashed out of there and the lady shouts behind me. As I'm running, I glance over and there she is....Midna. She's watching me as I run past her, smiling. My face got hot. I make it to the waiting room and quickly run past my pa. His eyes widen, "Huh?! CHIBI??" he shouts.
                   "Sorry! Just excited to get home!" I shout. Then I'm gone.

Whewww!! That so was close...It's not like I would've gotten in trouble for that shit. He's MY commander. I just want to know everything and he was one of the first ones there! He knows who grabbed Diego and how he escaped! I need to know too.
It's dark. Nothing but the street lights shining down. I'm glad many places weren't touched at least. Those stupid....dumbass men! Them and Diego! Shit! Out of every town there is, WHY OURS? Norrah isn't a bad place...there's no way. Speaking of men, I wonder if those two guys from that day....were Diego's....men.
I stop walking and cover my mouth.
Shit! Will I be able to handle my own? I can't rely on other people. Not even Tsuki. She's protected me long enough. It's my turn to protect her....and now everyone else!
Can I do it?
That's right...I'm still standing here. I finally look up and look around me. Norrah....I will protect you.

As I reach my front door, someone calls my name. "Chibi?" Kash calls out softly. I quickly turn my head, "Oh shit! H-Hey Kash. Wassup?" I say shocked. He walks up to me, very calm. His locs dangle in front of his face. I can hardly see his eyes.
"I just came by to check on you. Please don't think I'm weird" he says nervously. I chuckle, "You're not weird. Just a good friend. I've been the bad one" I say softly. I look down at my feet and start tapping them on the dirt.
"Never say those things about yourself" he says softly, "They aren't true."
I look up and he picks his locs up out of his face, looking dead at me.
I only hesitate for a moment before replying. Until then, silence.
"Look...from recent events I've been a wreck. This whole mission really had me fucked up" I say calmly, "I mean...look what it's cost us.."
Kash doesn't say anything.
He's just completely still and quiet.
"Those guys came back for Diego and now Diego is gone! It's cost us the death of others who live here, and it's cost us seeing Commander Lee get hurt.." I say softly. I finally look back up and he's staring at me rambling on.
"It's just....this all scares me sometimes. Those disgusting ass men...THAT scares me! I couldn't even-...." I say with worry. My voice chokes up.
Kash immediately grabs me, placing one hand on the back of my head. Tightly. Everything is still.
I don't move a muscle.
He then slowly pulls back and picks up my face, "Let me tell you some things I've learned since being here.
You are strong! Honestly, I think you're even stronger than me Chibi. Never once or have I ever thought you were weak!" he says quietly.
"Kash" I say softly, "and if Diego comes back? What if I can't beat him? What if he hurts the ones I care about??"
"I'll be right there beside you. You're not alone" he whispers.
Tears fill my eyes and my vision gets a little blurry.
"Chibi!?" My papa shrieks.
Me and Kash both shriek, "AAH!"
"Pa!" I shriek out.
"Mr. Tsuyoi!" Kash shouts.
"It's pretty late guys..You both need to get some rest tonight. Big days are coming" my pa says calmly.
Kash immediately nods his head, "Of course sir..." he says calmly. Kash looks at me, "Goodnight Chibi...Sweet dreams. Goodnight Mr. Tsuyoi."
My papa nods his head.
"Goodnight Kash.." I say quietly and then I walk inside and head upstairs.

            When I walk into my room, I find Mango sitting at my window.
"Mango.." I say softly. Mango turns his head and slowly blinks at me. I walk up to him and I pat his head. My cute Mango...He showed up when I needed someone the most. It's like he's my....Light.
      My friends....I don't want them to die. I don't want anyone to die. I have to get stronger! I feel this...power with me. I slowly glance over at Mango again and his eyes already face mine. Hmm...it's like he's watching over me, that cat. Mango appeared after my parents died. I was alone and crying out...I was younger then.
             My clothes were dirtied up from the heavy rains and the puddles below. I was alone. Mango slowly walked up to me and I immediately dropped down onto my knees. He was adorable. I reached out and pet him. Then he just couldn't stop meowing! So I automatically took him home. Had to. Mango WAS alone too...
