Now let the story begin.

Staring down at his phone, a teenage archeologist from the United States named [Y/N] [L/N] lets out a small sigh, catching the attention of his best friend [F/N].

[F/N] : Still waiting for a call from Sophie huh?

Sophie is France's representative of the European Union bladers and a fellow archeologist whom [Y/N] is in a relationship with.

[Y/N] : Yeah, she said she was gonna FaceTime me soon so we can see each other. Maybe she's too busy at the moment?

[F/N] : Dude, you're really into this girl aren't you?

He asks as [Y/N] looks at him and nods.

[Y/N] : I love her man, and she loves me back.

[F/N] : You know, I still find it amazing that you and her are together.

[Y/N] : Why? Is me having a girlfriend that hard to believe [F/N]?

The young archeologist asks defensively and narrows his eyes at him.

[F/N] : That's not what I meant dude. It's just the whole long distance thing that surprises me. You guys are literally thousands of miles apart and yet try to make things work. Not many people can pull that off like you two do.

After hearing his explanation, [Y/N] relaxes.

[Y/N] : Believe me, having a long distance relationship is anything but easy, but Sophie and I care about each other a lot and wanna make it work, even if we're on different continents.

[F/N] : Remind me again how you two even met in the first place?

[Y/N] : Well, over a year ago my uncle brought me along with him to a seminar held in Paris due to my passion for Archeology, which is where I met Sophie and we hit it off after chatting for what seemed like hours. We exchanged phone numbers and even met up a few times while I was traveling around the world with my uncle and his assistant, which eventually led to us getting together.

[F/N] : Woah. That's quite a story man. Why don't you just have your uncle take you to France so you can see her?

[Y/N] : Because he's on vacation right now, plus my parents won't let me leave the country without him.

He looks down with a sad expression as [F/N] gives him a sympathetic look.

[F/N] : That's rough buddy. I can't imagine what it's like not being able to see your girlfriend.

As soon as he said this, [Y/N]'s phone goes off, his mood perking up in an instant when he looks at it.

[Y/N] : It's Sophie! She's FaceTiming me!

[F/N] : What are you waiting for then bro, answer her!

He does so as the beautiful blue haired girl appears on his screen and smiles at her boyfriend.

Sophie : Hello [Y/N], I apologize if I keep you waiting long. I just got home after doing some training with my teammates.

[Y/N] : Not at all Sophie! I was just talking about you to [F/N].

Sophie : Is that so? All good things I hope.

[F/N] : Uh-huh! Just so you know Sophie, my buddy here is crazy about you, and apparently you are crazy about him!

He says with his voice raised, causing the two to blush.

Sophie : R-really? Though you aren't wrong [F/N], I do love [Y/N] deeply.

She says as [Y/N] blushes even more and smiles at her through the phone.

[Y/N] : I feel the same way Sophie, I love you too. I just wish we could see each other in person again.

Sophie : I know you do darling, I do as well. When we began dating, both of us understood that maintaining a long distance relationship wouldn't be without difficulty.

A sad smile appears on her face as she says this.

[Y/N] : That's true, and I absolutely enjoy being with you Sophie, it's just that sometimes talking over the phone-

Sophie : Isn't the same as being together in person?

She finishes his sentence as [Y/N] nods.

[Y/N] : Yeah....

Sophie : Darling, I know this is hard for you, it is for me too, but at the moment there's nothing we can do about our situation. Keep in mind that this is only a temporary thing, as we will definitely be seeing each other face to face in the near future. Though we are miles apart right now, our love keeps us together. Well, that and our phones of course.

Her boyfriend chuckles a bit at that last part which she can't help but smile at.

[Y/N] : You're right babe. The next time I see you in person, prepare to receive the biggest hug of your life!

Now it's her turn to chuckle.

Sophie : I'll be looking forward to that [Y/N]. Now, I hate to cut our FaceTime session short, but there's something I need to take care of. I'll talk to you again later though darling.

[Y/N] : Aww, ok. I love you Sophie.

Sophie : I love you too [Y/N].

The FaceTime ends as [F/N] speaks up.

[F/N] : Well, she was a delight as always. You got yourself one heck of a girl dude.

He says to [Y/N], who puts his phone away and smiles warmly while thinking about Sophie.

[Y/N] : Yep, and I can't wait to see her in person again, whenever that's possible.

Meanwhile in France, Sophie is seen sitting at a desk in her room smiling to herself.

Sophie : I miss [Y/N], and he misses me. It's about time I do something about that.

She types something on her phone and looks at prices for a plane ticket to America.
