CORDELIA'S POV

MATIIM kong binabasa ang librong bigay sa akin ni papa kagabi. It was a book all about greek mythology. The book has a lot of unnerving myths but I enjoyed reading them still. It felt like learning of a home I never knew I have.

Mount Olympus is the home of the twelve Olympians. The Olympians were ruled by Zeus, King of the Gods and Lord of the Sky himself, and consists of the following members: Poseidon, Lord of the Sea; Demeter, Lady of the Harvest; Hera, Queen of the Gods and wife of Zeus; the celestial twin archers, Apollo and Artemis, the deities of the sun and moon respectively; Aphrodite, Lady of Delight and goddess of love and beauty; Athena, the wise one, goddess of wisdom; Ares, the avenger, god of war and bloodshed; Hermes, messenger of the gods, god of trade and the roads; Hephaestus, who bears a creative mind, the god of smiths and forges; and lastly, Dionysus, the youngest, god of wine and madness. Together, they form the Olympian council under the reign of Zeus.

Despite being a major god, Hades was not considered to be a part of the Olympian council as he lives on the Underworld to rule the undead, along with his wife Persephone. It is also stated that Hestia, the eldest of the Kronides (children of Kronos and Rhea), gave up her seat on the council to Dionysus in order to keep the peace between her family. I was busy reading nang biglang pumasok si papa sa sala galing sa kusina. Agad ko siya binigyan ng nagtatanong na tingin.

"Pa, if you're a demigod.." I trailed off. "Then who's your godly parent?"

Saglit siyang napatigil bago ako tinaasan ng kilay.

"Guess."

Napakurap ako bago napanguso. Pwede naman niyang sabihin agad eh! Pinaningkitan ko siya ng mata.

Gwapo naman si papa, tanda ko pa nga na maraming cashier ang nagpapa-kyut sa kanya tuwing nag-go-grocery kami, at talaga namang head-turner ang tatay ko (#proudnaanak).

Matthew Winsthale works at a shipping company as one of their local delivery guy. He owns a second-hand car and somehow managed to provide the bills and expenses on the house. Hindi kaya cover-up lang ang trabaho niya sa shipping company na 'yon?

Hm..

"Is it.. one of the Olympians? The major deities?" Tanong ko at tumango naman siya.

Okay, so down to twelve. Hades is not considered an Olympian so it's not him, and Hestia is a virgin goddess kaya wala siyang anak.

"Mom or Dad?"

Agad napanguso si papa.

"Pareho lang tayo."

Pareho? Oh! It means it's his dad, then. That's down to seven! Let's see..

Zeus? I don't think so. I've read stories about his demigod sons at halos lahat sila nakatikim ng galit ni Hera. Hindi naman mukhang may trauma ang tatay ko at tsaka matagal na sana siyang wala kung si Zeus man ang tatay niya.

Poseidon? Parang hindi rin. Hindi naman mahilig sa dagat si papa- unlike me. Hindi naman siya madali magalit, super chill lang talaga si papa. Pero it's still a possibility.

Ares? Err, no. Nabasa ko na mahilig makipag-away ang mga anak niya at mga war freak, 'di naman ganon si papa. Dionysus? Hindi naman siya umiinom ng wine or beer. Apollo? Siningkitan ko si papa. Blonde siya pero hindi kasing kulay ng ginintuang araw, sa halip ay kakulay ng buhok niya ang white sand.
