It's been awhile since Qiling came to help out at the shop and honestly, it's been more popular since. More people came and sure he was making a profit but some part of him didn't like the idea. He wanted to take Qiling and hide him away.
"Xiao-ge, it's really fine. You don't have to help out, I've got Wang Meng so you can take it easy." Wuxie tried to talk Qiling out of helping but it seemed to have the opposite effect.
"I'll help." Qiling stated leaving no room for argument. Wuxie sighed and left to drop a delivery though upon his return he saw Qiling surrounded by girls. He quickly ran over and pulled Qiling's hoodie over his head, blocking the girls' view and Qiling's.
"Sorry ladies but my friend here doesn't like being crowded so if you can please step back. Also, this is an antique shop, if you aren't here to buy or inquire can you leave. You are disrupting my business." Wuxie said as he gleared at the girls who grumbled and left. "Hah, I left you only for a few minutes and you got yourself a group of fangirls. You should have chased them out if they weren't buying anything." He turned towards Qiling who had not moved since Wuxie showed up. "And where's Wang Meng? Isn't he suppose to watch yo.. I mean the shop?" That had gotten Qiling's attention. He removed the hood off his head and watched Wuxie as he was about to go off searching.
"Wuxie. I can help too.... I want to....." Qiling grabbed Wuxie's hand effectively making him stop and turn towards him. Their eyes met and for a few seconds, neither of them moved.
"Boss! There you are. I was looking for you...." Wang Meng ran over to them and Wuxie shook off Qiling's hold, turning to his employee.
"Wang Meng, didn't I tell you to stay here and watch Xi.. the shop." Wuxie corrected himself.
"I know, it's just that we ended up getting a big order so I had to see about that. Anyways, that's not why I was looking for you. Boss, I want a vacation. You're finally back for a good while now and I've been a great employee so.." Wang Meng smiled at Wuxie who just turned, ignoring him.
"Xiao-ge, are you hungry. Shall we go eat?" Wuxie asked as the other two followed along.
"Boss, look, you even got Zhang Qiling here helping out. Business has been booming cause of him too." Wang Meng tried to reason.
"Go." Qiling said feeling a swell of pride when he complimented him.
"Xiao-ge!" Wuxie fretted as Wang Meng said a quick thank you and ran off.
"You have me." Qiling answered as he sat down to eat.
"You... Ughh, fine, I guess he has worked hard these last few months..... but! If you want to work here it must be in the back. You're.... urm, distracting. Right, anyways, let's eat." Wuxie sat down to eat and only then did Qiling being to eat as well.
It was fairly quiet at the shop. A few times some girls came over looking for Qiling who was in the back working or out doing deliveries. Wuxie smiled as he had sent them off. 'Ah, it really is nice weather.' Wuxie thought as he sat waiting for Qiling to be back from a job but when he came back it wasn't alone. A woman came with him, walking extremely close.
"Oh, you must be Young Master Wu. It's a pleasure. Qiling here had made a delivery for me today and I must say he is very exemplory. I was wondering if I can have him for a day?" The woman was elegent and young.
"No." Wuxie said just as fast as the woman had asked.
"Of course I will pay well, I've been a regular customer for years as well. I'm.." she smiled about to introduce herself.
"Miss Chen. I know who you are and I am greatful for your continued patronage but Xiao-ge is not my employee so I can't accept." Wuxie smiled her as she just looked towards Qiling instead.
"Is that so? Then how about we go out then, I don't need his permission since he said you aren't his employee." Miss Chen stretches her hand to pass it against Qiling's chest but he grabbed her hand, making her stop.
"No." Qiling answered flatly and walked over to Wuxie who was smiling a little more than usual.
"So there you have it. Xiao-ge declined. If there is nothing else.. good day." Wuxie said as he showed her off. As she was about to leave she turned and leanes over to Wuxie.
"It seems that one will do anything for you. I only said that I wanted him to work with me for the day and he said I needed your permission. Then when I got here and it was up to him, he brutally declined me for you. I do hope we continue our business in the future and if I get to see him in between it would be a delight." She smiled and waved. She walked off in long, elegant strides as Wuxie was left dumbfounded.
'Then him being so persistent in helping out and staying over these past few weeks was because of me? Hah, Xiao-ge, what am I suppose to do?' Wuxie's thoughts were all over the place as he walked over to Qiling in the shop.
"Wuxie?" Qiling tilted his head when he saw how spaced out he looked.
"Huh? Oh, Xiao-ge, she left. But uh... have you been doing all this for me?" Wuxie asked as he looked at him. Qiling nodded and Wuxie laughed. "Really what am I to do with you." Wuxie walked over to him and pat his head. Qiling smiled and closed his eyes as he leaned down abit more. "Are you a dog, why are you so happy to get a head pat." Wuxie laughed as he ruffled his hair.
"I did good right? I'm useful still." Qiling answered back as he smiled. Wuxie felt his heart sink when he heard that.
"Xiao-ge, you don't have to do anything. You're my friend so just being with you is enough. You don't have to be useful or good though you are both of those." Wuxie smiled at him and Qiling felt the urge to hug him, his fingers twitched as he tried to hold himself back.
"Thanks, Wuxie." Qiling smiled and Wuxie felt like they became abit closer.
Tada! Ok I know this one was kinda lame but like I can so picture Wuxie being jealous uk. Anyways I'm gonna have a continuation on this, hope you look forward to it🤗
