'Ok so maybe it was abit weird to hold hands and sleep but.... I mean look at his face! I couldn't say no right?!' Wuxie tried to reason as they sat in the van to go back home. The trip back was fairly quiet, some music and light chats here and there with some snacks. No one could tell that Zhang Qiling was internally panicing in the back seat.
'I held his hand to sleep! If he didn't know something was wrong before, he knows now.... but..... he didn't say anything.' Qiling was thinking so hard he didn't realize that they reached home already. He absentmindedly helped unload the van and then just before he could leave Wuxie called out to him.
"Xiao-ge, let's have dinner together. It's hotpot." Wuxie smiled and Qiling nodded as he walked over to him. There was abit of sweat at the side of his face and down his neck. Qiling looked away, his face even more stoney than before. Wuxie tilted his head as he wiped the sweat. "You ok?" Wuxie questioned but Qiling just nodded and walked over to the over joyous Pangzi who was hugging the pots.
"Xiao-ge, help me carry these to my store." Pangzi looked over at him only to see him lost in thought. "Something on your mind? You can tell old Pangzi, I'll help you." Qiling took a few seconds but decided not to talk, instead he took the pots and started to walk. "Ah, wait for me." Pangzi grabbed some and followed him. As they were walking in silence Pangzi thought that maybe he should do some councelling. "You know, we've known each other for really long. Xiao-ge, I know you like me and you like our little group of friends but I also know you especially like our little Tenzhen." Pangzi saw Qiling falter abit in his step but continued, "I think you should be open about your feelings and thoughts. I mean, you have lost alot... I don't want you to regret something this important.... We don't live forever Xiao-ge, especially in our line of work." Pangzi finished up just as they reached his door. He put down his set and turned to watch Qiling. Qiling just nodded. He couldn't say anything. He was actually speechless. Pangzi smiled at him. "Alright, let's go get some hotpot!" Pangzi cheered and Qiling couldn't help but smile a little.
"Mhm, let's." Qiling answered.
Timeskip to the iron trio eating hotpot-
Qiling was silently giving meat and vegies to Wuxie as he ate while Pangzi was talking about some trip he was planning to go on since he would be rich soon. Wuxie sat eating what he was given and kept glancing over at Qiling."Ah, Pangzi, are you going to stay over tonight?" Wuxie interjected as he sat up straighter.
"Tonight?" Pangzi glanced at Qiling and then back at Wuxie, "I think I'll skip but Xiao-ge said he would stay and help you with your research." Pangzi said as he patted Qiling who had frozen mid putting meat on Wuxie's plate.
"Xiao-ge?" Wuxie questioned as he looked at him. He nodded. His eyes locked with Wuxie and in that moment he felt his whole heart stop. He wasn't mentally prepared to tell him about his feelings but Pangzi was right.
"Ahhh, I'm full! I'll get going, nothing beats a little walk after a meal." Pangzi got up and winked at Qiling before walking off.
"He doesn't even like to walk." Wuxie mumbled under his breath as he started to pack up the dishes.
"I'll wash." Qiling said as he took the dishes and walked to the sink. Wuxie watched his back, wondering if he was alright. He decided to clean up the table and then headed to bathe. When he finished Qiling was done with the dishes.
"You can go take a bath. I'm going to the study." Wuxie answered even though Qiling didn't say anything, afterall he knew him too well.
"Mhm." Qiling walked over to the bath as Wuxie went to the study getting ready to get to the bottom of the mystery. Half an hour passed and Wuxie felt a presence next to him. He looked over his shoulder and as he had guessed, Qiling was leaned over.
"I found something here, but I'm not entirely sure it's related. Look here, there is said to have a few similar caves and writings of sacrifice but they are never actually clear. It might be a kind of occult from long ago. I still don't know what god it was or what the actual sacrifice was but I'm pretty sure it wasn't humans. It might have been a harmless occult, just worshiping and I guess making pots and artifacts." Wuxie rambled on about his findings trying really hard not to breath in too much. 'We bathed with the same soap so why does he smell so much better?' Wuxie could feel the heat from Qiling as he slowly stretched his hand forward, closing the laptop.
"Sleep." Qiling said lowly by Wuxie's ear before walking over to the bedroom leaving a very red Wuxie frozen in his seat. He covered his ear as he felt his face warm up. 'Isn't this illegal?!' Wuxie thought as he got up and went to the bedroom. The light was off so he couldn't see well as he tried to find the bed only to bump into something, stumble and then fall face first into something hard.
"Oww." Wuxie tried to get up by pushing himself off whatever he had fallen on but it felt firm. "Hmm? What is this?" He asked as he gropped it only for him to feel a hand snake around his waist, pressing him further into the firmness.
"Wuxie.....you shouldn't move around." Qiling's voice sounded under him and he stopped.
"Ah! X..xiao-ge?! I..I'm sorry. I'll get umhhff." Wuxie had started to panic and tried to rush to get up only to fall back down.
"You can stay." Qiling said lowly as he hugged Wuxie against him this time. Wuxie's face was on his chest and his body half way on him.
"Huh?!" Wuxie shouted out as he raised abit, trying to see Qiling's face but it really was too dark.
"Actually.... I don't want you to be away from me again..." Qiling breathed out the words that had been stuck in his heart for so long. Wuxie didn't answer and he thought maybe this was it. Wuxie was kind but this was over the top. He must be fed up. As Qiling decided to let go Wuxie hugged him.
"I'm here Xiao-ge. If you leave, I'll find you and if you forget, I'll help you remember so... don't be sad." Wuxie said as he held him tightly as if he was afraid he might disappear. At first Qiling was thrilled but then he realizes Wuxie must have meant as friends. He reached out his hand to gently stroke his cheek.
"Wuxie.... I like you." Qiling spoke and he felt fear in his heart. Each time he felt that emotion it was always connected to Wuxie. "I want to hold your hand, touch you.... kiss you." Wuxie sat up fast as he tried to process what he heard.
"X..xiao-ge, you don't know what you're talking about." Wuxie tried to reason with him only for Qiling to sit up too. Even though it was dark Wuxie could feel that Qiling was right in front of him.
"I do know.... Wuxie," Qiling touched his cheek as he leaned in closer. His breath mixed with his, "I like you."
"B..but.. can't, I.. I.." Wuxie's voice was soft, almost a whisper as he looked down.
"Can't? Not don't?" Qiling questioned as he looked at Wuxie. Even in the dark he could see how his eyebrows knitted together and he could hear his heart that was beating faster.
"Xiao-ge... I don't know." Wuxie said not looking up. Qiling smiled as he wrapped his arms around him.
"It's ok.... let's sleep." Qiling answered as be pulled Wuxie on the bed still not letting go. Wuxie didn't say anything. He just lay in Qiling's arms and slowly fell asleep. Qiling looked down at Wuxie's peaceful face. He didn't need to rush him. This was fine too. He moved his hair away and pressed his lips against his forehead.
Ooooooookkkkkk, So I didn't plan to make a part 4 but.... I might? Hope you guys enjoy it, I know you wanted a kiss and well I mean it still counts right😂
