Sakura and the rest of her fellow cadets waited in the trees for anything to happen.
The recon ability was lost.
"Damn him for giving a crazy order." Jean muttered, breaking the silence.
"He'll hear you." Armin whispered.
"And this no real explanation thing is innovative, too." Jean continued. "Of course, I'm sure he has his own concerns."
Sakura glared at Jean.
Nobody talked about her family like this and got away with it. Yes, Erwin may have been crazy at times, but he always did things for a reason.
"What do you mean?" Armin asked, shuddering at Sakura's glare.
"A commander deemed worthless by his men in a critical situation quite often succumbs to a mysterious attack from behind." Jean explained. "I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me."
"Jean, so what are you going to do?" Armin questioned.
"Don't be so serious." Jean turned around. "This situation's got me a bit worked up, that's all. What am I going to do? Obey my orders, and keep Titans out of the forest. You also think it's the right move, don't you? You look like you know something."
"Well -"
"Five-meter class coming!"
"Armin." Jean spoke up after a while. "Our orders were to keep the Titans out of the forest, right? In other words, there's no longer any reason to fight. Right?"
The moment the acoustic round was fired into the air, Sakura made her way deeper into the forest, much to her friends' surprise.
Vaulting from tree branch to tree branch, with the use of her 3D Maneuver gear, at times, she was able to get to her father's position in no time.
Sakura landed on Titan's arm, racing up it to distract it from Eren. Preoccupied, the Titan tried using its other arm to swat at Sakura, but she was able to jump up, using her gear to stick to the Titan's forehead.
When it reached up to swat at her forehead, Sakura used her feet to push backward, making the Titan slap itself in the face.
"Ha! You slapped yourself!" Sakura giggled.
The Titan was uninterested in Sakura's joke and very quickly swatted her against a tree.
Sakura cried out as she hit the tree.
"Sakura!" Eren gasped as Levi's face hardened into a scowl.
Sakura took a breath before flying up again, spiraling right to dodge the Titan's hand as her face morphed into one that was filled with determination.
Eren took another look at Sakura, who was holding her own against the Titan.
"I'll keep going!"
Sakura smiled at his words, continuing to try to slow the Titan down.
The moment Sakura was able to get the Titan to the small clearing, it stopped.
"Fire!"
Sakura spiraled out of the way as cannons fired grapple hooks. She had moved barely at the nick of time, one of the grapple hooks spinning near her thigh, which caused her to wince in pain.
She was able to hook herself into a tree, her feet hitting the bark, her eyes fixed on the Titan who covered the nape of her neck with both hands.
Erwin grabbed onto her shoulder, helping to steady her.
