Trigger Warning: Child Abuse

Carlos wasn't sure what he should do while he was waiting for the results of Mal and Holly's dates. Evie had decided to play dress up with Jane, Jay was on the tourney field practicing with some of the other guys on the team, and Hadie was hiding in the kitchen eating snacks with Chole and Hyd. Carlos like tourney, but he wasn't in the mood to practice right now, he wasn't big on fashion like Evie and honestly Chole and Hye honestly scared him a bit.
He hadn't booked a place in the computer lab today like he should have. He sighed and walked down to the courtyard with dude at his side. Suddenly Dude ran off, Carlos called out to him and when he didn't come back, he ran off after him. It took a minute to realize what he was running after, a small black and white dalmatian puppy. Carlos had gotten over his fear of dogs thanks to Ben, but dalmatians still made him nauseous. Mainly because his mother had tens upon tense of black and white spotted coats in the closet where he slept.
He fought down the feeling and raced after Dude.
When he finally caught up to his dog and picked him up the puppy realized that she wasn't being followed anymore and doubled back. She barked and jumped-up Carlos' leg. Despite his feelings her knelt down and rubbed a hand along her back and scratched behind her ears. She had a red collar that jingled with a golden tag in the shape of a bone. He reached for it and turned it over in hand, the puppy let him like she knew he wanted to help her. "Nova?" she yipped, "that's your name girl?" she let out another high-pitched bark. He chuckled and pulled out his new phone, curtsy of Hayden, and dialed the number on her collar. "Let's get your owner here yeah?" another bark.
"Hello?" a frantic sounded girl answered.
"Hi, uh I have you dog-" was all Carlos managed to get out.
"Oh, thank fairies! I've been looking for her everywhere! How far did she get? Is she still on school grounds."
"If you go to Auradon Prep yeah," he chuckled nervously.
A light sigh was let out, "good, where can I meet you to pick her up?"
"I'm by the front of the school, near the fountain, you won't be able to miss me," he said self-deprecatingly. He looked too much like his mother, and he didn't help himself when all he would wear was black and white. It's not his fault though, his stupid hair grew black and white he looked weird in any other color else.
"Alright I'll be down in a minute thank you so much," she hung up without waiting for an answer. He sighed and sat down on the edge of the fountain running his hands along Dude and Nova's soft fur. Nova hopped up on the edge of the fountain and into Carlos' lap. He tensed a bit but when Nova licked his hand and yawned all of his fears vanished. She really didn't look that much like a coat.
"NOVA!" A loud voice called. Apparently, the puppy recognized the voice because she picked her head off of Carlos' lap and bolted for a blonde girl a few inches taller than him, "Oh my gods there you are!" Nova jumped into the girls' waiting arms and licked her face, "what have I told you about running off." She looked up at Carlos, "Thank you so much for finding her."
He chuckled nervously, "Dude actually found her."
She looked down at the other dog that had curled up at Carlos' feet, "well thank you Dude," she noticed that he was in a little matching sweeter to Carlos and he had a collar around his neck. "Awe someone one finally took him in. That's great! Everyone loved him but never enough to take care of him, I would have taken him myself but there are too many dogs in my house."
Carlos looked down at the dog who was whimpering and pawing at him, "Yeah I can relate." He had no doubt that Mal, Holly, Evie, Jay, and Hadie loved him, in their own ways, But Mal, Evie, and Jay didn't love him enough to take him in. Holly would but her and Hadie were barely getting by as it was.
