At least it worked.
Stone recoiled immediately, making a sort of "tch" sound.
And Skipp immediately swallowed in some sweet air. Stone turned his head to the side to hide his rosy face with his hair.
"What the HELL Skipp??" He blurted out, more shakily than he would've preferred.
"I am so sorry, I-thatwastheonlythingI-areyouokay????" Skipp apologized quickly. Stone cooled down within a few seconds, recognizing his overreaction.
"Y-ye, I'm completely fine." He reassured with his usual calm tone, returning his gaze to Skipp. Skipp exhaled, biting into his bottom lip in slight guilt.
Stone looked away again.
"Are you sure you're okay...?" Skipp said after a few empty beats.
"Yeah, yeah." He nodded. "How are we going to get out now?" He said, changing the topic. Skipp glanced down at Stone's chest, then back up at him.
"I mean, we could try again? I promise I'll try my best not to get suffocated this time?"
Stone contemplated this, before sighing quietly and nodding once more."Take two." Skipp took up the collar, and Stone advanced forward again. In the back of his mind, Stone was still subconsciously worried about crushing Skipp to death, so he held back a little this time.
Skipp thrust his head sideways, jerking on the jacket before he could black out.
Unfortunately, it just wasn't loose enough.
Skipp noticed that Stone wasn't pushing as far as last time, so he squeaked out:
"Harder,"
Stone's ears went warm at the specific command, but he shook his mind off of it and fulfilled his request.
After a bit more pushing and pulling they were able to get one side off.
As soon as he felt the coat slip, Stone shot backward, apparently still concerned for Skipp's health.
His attempts only backfired though, because the sudden rush of incoming air and lurching caused Skipp to gasp-
and not exactly in an appropriate way.
Skipp suddenly wished that his hands were free so that he could hide his face with them.
To his surprise, Stone's face was already tinted pink, in fact it was more red.
(MORE OVERLY AGGRESSIVE INTERNAL SCREAMING)
Skipp coughed in the awkward silence that followed, pretending that none of that bothered him at all- although the color of his whole complexion very possibly betrayed him.
"Great! Now you can just, uh," Skipp started, his eyes flicking to the rest of Stone's jacket, now hanging off of one shoulder.
Stone swallowed hard and nodded in agreement. Speech actually felt impossible at the moment. He wriggled until his coat joined Skipp's one the floor, before pausing.
Skipp blinked.
Stone cleared his throat.
"We should be able to move now." He said.
"Oh- right. Yeah." Skipp also cleared his throat.
Skipp began to shimmy around, the absence of the overcoats allowing for just a tad bit more movement.
