Sans never thought he would willingly go back to the place he had been stuck in for what felt like centuries but it seemed life liked to have a laugh at his expense.

He ended up driving to the base of Mt Ebott due to how many people were with him but he also wanted to drag it out, his SOUL racing as he recalled the years spent Underground.

"Wow, that is super high. Do we have to walk up the whole thing, Mr Papyrus?"

"THERE IS NO NEED TO WORRY, LITTLE ONE! FOR I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS SHALL HELP YOU MAKE THE JOURNEY"

Sans' mood soured further with the reminder that his brother had come along, even more so when Frisk got out of the car holding the demon flower. He was tempted to start carrying weed killer around, although Flowey had been suspiciously well behaved these past few days.

He had wanted to go to the Underground and check the CORE as soon as he saw the evidence but with how closely Papyrus was watching him and the risk of them telling other monsters, he had to take it slow.

It had been painful but it did give him time to cool down and interrogate Frisk some more but sadly that wasn't as fruitful as he wished. They still seemed to clam up whenever the kid was around and considering Frisk went out of their way to play with the kid, he sadly had more questions than answers right now.

...It was also kind of embarrassing to realside he hadn't asked the kid their name yet, unsure how to bring it up without sounding like an idiot or uncaring, so just stuck to nicknames, thankfully not that out of character for him.

He locked the car the red one Papyrus had bought as soon as they could hiding his shaking hands in his hoodie and trying to prepare himself for what was next.

The Underground was just as depressing as Sans recalled, tensing when they walked through Judgment Hall and trying not to look at the spot he had killed the kid and had been killed in return far too many times to count.

The RESETS were seemingly endless and he felt close to losing his mind some days, not noticing his eyelight glowing and wafting off magic in response to his darkening thoughts, causing Flowey and Frisk to tense up.

"It looks so pretty! Look at the golden flowers, Mr Papyrus. It looks like Mr Flowey!"

He couldn't even enjoy the rare moment of seeing the weed flinch, far too wound up right now to even relax his shoulders. He knew Frisk felt the same, seeing them actually flinch at the innocent observation by the goat child, the only one currently calm as even Papyrus caught on to the odd tension growing in the group.

"Can I pick one, Mr Papyrus?"

"N-NOT NOW. MAYBE ONCE WE ARE DONE"

"Ok!"

At least the kid isn't fussy, pretty sure that wasn't normal for any child and wondering if they might be ill. He would look for answers down here before he even considered taking them to Alphys, already sweating at the idea of how to explain any of this.

He had thought his stressful days were over once monsters were free but it seems even if he was not officially 'The Judge' anymore all agreeing the humans might be uneasy at such a title and what it meant problems would still land in his lap that he would inevitably be forced to deal with.
