Deku's POV:
"Let me get this straight.." Tomura paced around the room, rubbing his temples as I swallow nervously. "You were on your way back, a child bumped into you.. and because she was asking for help, you brought her back with you?!"
The child I found earlier tonight, who I now knew was named Eri, sat on my lap with a death grip on my hoodie that refused to let go. She hid her face against my chest, sniffling every now and then. No matter how much time passed, she wouldn't stop trembling in my arms. "Um.. well, technically, Izumura helped.." I speak through the mask.
"I don't care! You're both responsible for each other!" Eri whimpers a little, hugging me closer as she starts to cry again. I give Tomura a look to lower his voice. He sighs. "Who here is going to watch her when you have to go train with Stain?!"
"More importantly, who's child is she?" Touya walks over, looking down at the girl. She flinches, to which Touya's brows furrow. I could see he felt hurt by her reaction. "Sorry.. this big brother is pretty scary, huh? I got a lot of nasty burns everywhere from my quirk. I can't really do much about it.."
Eri seemed to warm up to Touya when he said that. She gently reaches a hand out to touch his scarred skin. Touya stares at her for a few moments before smiling softly.
A sudden smirk curves his lips and he looks at Tomura. "Yo, Shiggy.. don't you think she looks like our kid, if we had one?" I look between them in confusion, noticing Tomura's face scrunch up in disgust. Now that I get a better look at him, his scars don't look as bad anymore. I guess his allergies aren't acting up right now.
"Doesn't it hurt..?" For the first time since I saved her from the man in the alleyway, Eri finally spoke. Touya's eyes widen for a moment and he looks down at his own scars after she asks.
"Not anymore, kid. They did, though.." Eri looks at him with sad eyes as he stands up, backing away from us. "Who were you running away from, huh?"
Eri looks at me and I nod at her. After a moment, she mumbles out a response. "Th-The man who I ran away from.. the other adults called him Overhaul.." Tomura's eyes widen and Toga giggles.
"Isn't he that guy you said All for One was looking to recruit? I'll bet he'll be real set on joining if he finds out Izumura has his daughter~" Eri trembles and I hug her close.
"For the last time, she's not his daughter. I don't know what he has planned with her, but I'm not handing her back to him." I say as I look down at Eri, wondering if I should hand her over to All Might. If she's taken under hero custody, she'll definitely be a lot safer.
Tomura crosses his arms. "I already interviewed him one, he's a crazy bastard. No matter what father says he wants, he's not joining. End of discussion."
"I want to hand her over to the heroes.." They all look at me in shock, Eri seeming to be cautious of what I said. "Eri will definitely be much safer if she's taken into hero custody. We're not far off from the hero entrance exams so we don't have many options. I'm not sure who will be assigned to take care of her, but I'm sure Shoto could help us find someone.." I decide to use Shoto's name, feeling guilty about it afterwards. I can't let anyone know I'm training with All Might yet. I don't trust them enough.
"Fine by me." Touya says, making everyone look at him. "None of us are cut out for babysitting anyway. If she stays here and All for One decides to pay a visit, she'll either be a lab experiment or a weakness for this one over here." He gestures to me.
I nod, looking down at Eri. "Eri, I can't be the one to take care of you. I live in a run down place like this that's full of bad people. I'm going to bring you to some good people who will definitely take very good care of you, okay?"
