Chapter 19: Location

Deku's POV:

"You mean you killed the hero killer..?!" Shoto and Hitoshi both look at me with wide eyes. I was currently digging into a delicious bento box Fuyumi made for Shoto to give me when she found out he was coming to see me.

I munch on the onigiri, politely chewing with my mouth closed. It was only after I swallowed the food in my mouth that I spoke. "Technically, it was Izumura who told him to do it himself using Hitoshi's quirk, since he was trying to kill me and Kacchan.."

"Don't use my quirk in such a scary way, good god.." Hitoshi looked at me a bit weird for a moment before sitting on the bench beside me.

Shoto sighs, rubbing his temples. "How is he supposed to pay for his crimes if he's dead? You even decayed the body.. so the press will have no way of confirming whether he's dead or not.."

"It doesn't matter.." I take a piece of chicken from the bento with my chopsticks and put it in my mouth, chewing slowly. After swallowing, I continue. "He's been working for my father all along. I never should've trusted him in the first place. I need to find my mom before-"

"My boyfriend already found her.." My eyes widen in shock. Shoto and I look at Hitoshi like he's crazy as he rubs the back of his neck. "Actually, he's known pretty much everything for a while now.. he's been insisting that he wants to help.."

"You told him about Izumura and Izuku..?!" Shoto speaks for me and my brows furrow. I didn't like the idea of someone I barely even knew having that much information about me.

Hitoshi puts his hands up a bit. "W-Wait, let me finish..! His mom is a pro hero that is currently working undercover at the League! Denki overheard his mom say something about making a deal with Izumura and that's when he realized it was you..!"

"Wait, Kaminari's mom works for me..?" I close my eyes, trying my best to remember what pro heroes were on my side right now. That's when it clicked for me. I open my eyes. "Ah.. I think I know who it is, pro hero Tempest.. I guess they do look really similar, now that I think about it.."

"We're pretty much villains now, Hitoshi. We can't just go around telling anyone and everyone about their situation. Even if he is your boyfriend, you know this is a sensitive situation.." Shoto was being protective of my identity, but I was worried about another thing entirely.

"How on earth did he find my mom..?" I look down at the nearly finished bento box, thinking out loud. "My father has people all over Japan, so it's been impossible to find a lead no matter how hard Izumura and I looked. We've been searching for half a year and haven't found a single trace of her.. yet you're telling me he found her?"

Hitoshi nods and I tell him to call Kaminari over here. Shoto protests at first, saying that this was our secret spot. I told him nothing matters more than my mom and he quickly let all his protests fall silent.

Kaminari was breathing a bit unsteadily after climbing the hill when he finally got here. He rushed over to Hitoshi for a hug, which Hitoshi gladly accepted. I gave them a moment to greet each other with a short kiss before clearing my throat.

Their attention turns to me and I put the bento box down, which I had finished now. Shoto quietly takes it and puts it back in his bag as I stand up. "Izuku, right? It's been a while. I don't think I've ever met you, it's only Izumura I've met."

I guess he really does know everything. I look down at him and notice our height difference has grown a bit since the last time Izumura met with him. He seemed to notice, too. "Denki.. can I call you that?"

"Sure thing, boss~!" I'm a little caught off guard as he calls me that, looking over at Hitoshi who seemed just as confused. "I've learned a lot about you from my mom's phone calls that I secretly listen in on and from Hitoshi's drunk talk. I hear you're planning to go to U.A., and I wanna make myself useful to you if I can.."
