TIME IS A WEIRD THING when you have no way to check it, Raelyn has no idea how long she's been handcuffed to this table but she's about five minutes away from ripping out her own teeth.

If Raelyn went by the small view from the window she would guess it would be about late evening or maybe early afternoon, if she was at home right now she'd be up in her room reading or panting.

Raelyn's attention turns from the window and to the door that keeps from them leaving as the doorknob begins to rattle loudly, Raelyn nudges Hy gentle gaining his attention immediately.

The door swings open and bangs against the wall behind loudly a pair of Peacekeepers walk in a head straight over to the pair from Five no words are spoken as they uncuff the District Five Tributes and escorted them out of the room.

The pair are taken out onto the station platform the evening sun still beats down on them, small coughs emit from Hy but he waves Raelyn off when she looks at him with concern.

They are only waiting a few minutes when the train comes roaring and rattling to a stop at the platform, it wasn't a normal train cart that was awaiting the pair from Five it was a rundown and dirty cattle cart.

Raelyn can only look at it with disgust as a peacekeeper hauls open the large cart door which rattles and groans on its hinges clearly only have a few more journeys left in it.

Raelyn takes a deep breath before stepping up to the cart, she grabs ahold of the handle and pulls herself up with all her strength, the foul smell of whatever mess was left behind by the animals that use to occupy the space hits Raelyn all at once, it takes everything she has not to puke.

Raelyn quickly turns around and holds her hand out for Hy to take which he does so carefully placing his other hand on the handle to take some of the weight off Raelyn.

As soon as the pair are inside the pair are quickly engulfed in darkness as the large cattle cart doors and slammed behind them, the sound the squeaking fills the ears of the pair from Five and they both look around in disgust.

"I'd sit down soon if I was you"a female voice calls out into the darkness.

"Why's tha-"Hy starts before the train begins to move knocking the standing tributes to the ground in one quick motion.

A small giggle is heard from somewhere else in the darkness, Raelyn looks up from the dirt and hay covered floor and makes eye contact with a small brown eyed boy who smiles sheepishly at her.

"So that's why"Hy says a groan escaping his lips.

Raelyn and Hy careful stand up aiding each other in the process and make their way over to an unoccupied space and carefully sit down.

"Thanks for the heads up"Hy says his voice laced with sarcasm.

The person scoffs and when Raelyn looks up she makes eye contact with a short haired ginger girl who has a stoic and mean look plastered across her face.

"I did warn you"The girl responds coldly.

"A little late"Hy retorts.

The girls scoffs. "Be grateful I told you at all".

"Coral, please be nice"The voice of the small boy calls out revealing the name of the stoic girl.

Coral looks over at what Raelyn assumes is her District partner a gives him a small smile. "I am being nice Mizzen"

"Totally"Hy responds sarcastically earning himself a glare from Coral.

"Hy"Raelyn says in a warning tone, Raelyn has no interest in making enemies before the games even begin.

"So you can talk then"Coral says bluntly. "I was beginning to think you were mute or something"

Raelyn feels all eyes on her and pulls her knees up to get chest and wraps her arms around them.

"She talks when she wants to, she's Raelyn by the way since we're doing introductions"Hy says speaking up for in District partner.

The cart falls into an awkward silence nobody really knowing what to say, what do you say to kids who will be trying to kill you in a few days.

Raelyn looked down at the watch attached to her wrist it was the only connection she had to her District apart from Hy, she began to wonder what her father was thinking she hoped were ever he is he was looking down on his daughter.

"Where are you guys from?"The voice of Mizzen calls out the small boy brown eyes make contact with Raelyn's sea blue ones.

"Five"Raelyn responds her voice is quiet but can be heard by everyone inside the cart.

"That's cool, we're from Four"Mizzen responds a joyousness in his tone Raelyn had never heard before.

"Four?"Hy questions. "You got like fish and stuff right?"

"Fish, crabs, starfish all sorts of things"Mizzen responds a small smile on his face. "What's your District like?"

"Crowded, polluted and stinky"Hy responds and Raelyn joins in with a nod.

"Sounds lovely"Coral tells the pair sarcastically.

"Well we can't all be swimming with dolphins"Hy tells the girl sarcastically.

Coral holds her hands up in mock surrender a snarky smile is plastered across her face. "No need to be so defensive every District is a shit hole"Coral responds.

Raelyn reluctantly had to agree with the girl from Four every District in Panem was a radioactive pile of shit that's just wating to explode. Raelyn has heard rumours that life in places like Eleven and Twelve were twice as heard as anything they had in Five and Raelyn watched a women be whipped in the square for being just five minutes late for work.

Life in every District was hard but the Hunger Games was the worst than it all in just over a week from now twenty three kids would be dead and one who be left to deal with the fall out.

Raelyn knew she would die someday she just assumed it would be from cancer from one of the power plants not fighting to death in the Hunger Games.

The universe was full of surprises and Raelyn was in for a few more before the games even began.
