A Mermaid's Pirate

Reunion... Kinda

Three years later

In the large palace of Aquatica, several young adults slept in a room. Each one sleeping on a large clam. The oldest being 24 while the youngest was about 18.

Suddenly Athena swam into the room with a smile on her face. She hasn't really aged at all and her attire wasn't different than the day she had left the Reaper with the exception of her necklace.

After getting back and hugging her husband and daughters for hours, while also thinking, she decided she wouldn't tell him about the human who had saved her life.

Not out of guilt or shame or anything but she knew if her husband heard the story, he would wish to visit the human and thank him personally and Athena knew she couldn't face DJ again.

So she told her family that she had escaped the pirates on her own but found herself lost at sea and only found her way back to the cove shortly before she returned home.

It took some adjusting to wake up in the mornings and find herself in her own room without the human laying next to her but after some weeks, she settled back into her old routine.

"Rise and shine girls" she said in a sing song voice as Aquata, one of her daughter's, who had brown hair and a blue tail and was sleeping with a pink stuffie, groaned.

"It's too early" she groaned covering her head with her pillow till it was pulled off by her mother.

"Come on girls, your father wants to see you all before the morning swim and then we leave for our girls day" Athena said with a smile.

"But it's still dark out" Arista, another of her daughter's said sitting up. She had blonde hair and a red tail, as well as a leaf mask covering her eyes.

"Uhhhh" the blue tailed girl said as Athena smiled and lifted the mask slightly as her daughter chuckled and blushed in embarrassment.

"I was dreaming about the cutest boy" another said hugging her pillow. This was Adella, she had a golden tail and brown hair.

"Well you won't meet him laying in bed, darling. Come on girls" she said as the rest of her daughter's got up and began doing their makeup or hair while she just smiled and helped a few of them.

Soon enough they exited their room and swam down the long hallway until they came upon the throne room, where their father sat in his seat. He had a long grey beard with long great hair to match with a spiked crown interwoven with his hair and a dark blue tail.

"Good morning girls" he said with a smile as Athena came and sat beside him on her throne.

"Good morning father" they all said bowing. The king of Aquatica smiled as he looked from his wife to his daughters.

When his wife was first taken from them, he sulked the whole month until she returned. He let his daughters sleep in his bed, even though they were old enough to sleep on their own. However he knew it was hard on them, losing their mother.

He even thought about hiring a nanny of sorts as he didn't want to do anything other than be alone in his room most days.

However then Athena came back into their lives and instantly all the joy came rushing back as he and their daughters swam to meet her as she came down the hill.

"Are you all ready for your mother-daughter day?" He then asked as they all smiled widely and nodded.

"Yes father" they said together once more, this time with more excitement in their voices. Since the day Athena came back into their lives, the king of Aquatica barely let anyone go out past the barriers of the city and certainly not to the surface so this trip would be amazing for them all.
