"His voice reminded me of
poetry and sex."
- Francesca Lia Block

"Hey."

His voice literally sends shivers through my whole body.

And I am fully aware that all he sees right now is my ass.

I don't move. I will not move.

Where is Eden?

"Hazel, are you stuck in there?" He says and his voice is raspy but smooth at the same time.

It's almost like I want for him to ruin my life and then give me a hug afterwards.

"Um, no," I answer, more like squeak, "you can go now."

"Okay!" He says enthusiastically and I let out my breath that I was holding in.

I can hear how he starts to walk away, but then he stops and turns around.

"Nah, I changed my mind, I would rather stay here with you."

"Oh, fuck me." I whisper.

I start to get out of the car, but I am moving too fast and I hit my head against the side window so hard that it makes such a loud sound.

I immediately grab my head with my hands and squeeze my lips and eyes closed tight.

He runs up to me that exact second for what it feels like.

I can feel his hand at the small of my back.

Why is that almost burning on my skin?

"My dear God.." he whispers, "are you hurt?"

I let out a chuckle. I don't know what else to do. I feel so stupid.

My cheeks and ears feel like they are on fire.

"Sounded worse than it was." I say quietly and rub my head once again.

What is it about me embarrassing myself in front of attractive men?

I finally look up to him. His eyes are so dark brown, they almost look black.

He smiles.

I accidentally bite my lower lip, trying not to smile as well.

He squeezes his eyes a little and crunches his nose.

"Don't even!" I say, raising my hand at him and putting it on his chest, stopping him.

Why is he moving closer to me?

"What?" He grins at me through his hair, that are a little curly at the ends.

"I can see what you're doing!" I exclaim laughing.

He stares at me so passionately, it's like he's taking in every feature that I have. It feels so intense, I can't keep eye contact longer than five seconds.

"I'm making sure you're alright?" He lowers his head and tilts it to the side. He is keeping his eyebrows raised, adding a layer of concern to his expression.

Damn, he's good.

"Isn't it rude to assume things about people without getting to know them first?" His eyes are twinkling with such interest and curiosity, I want to fold right there and now.

"I have to go to find my friend now." I say, trying to look as calm as possible, but that stupid soft smile on his face makes me want to spend this whole night just looking and listening to him.

As I start to walk away, I hear him saying from behind,

"I'll look for you in there!"

I bite my lip, trying to not smile.

I grab Eden's hand in mine and now it's my turn to drag her with me.

"You just stood there and watched me suffer?" I hiss at her.

"You didn't look like you needed saving." She grins at me.

"Who is he anyway?" I try to sound as uninterested as possible.

"Just a friend's friend. We meet up at parties usually. But not like that, he's like my big brother." She winks.

"You are gross." I scoff.

"Isn't he so hot?" She pinches my side and it makes me jump.

"No, he looks like Shrek."

"Yeah, keep trying to tell yourself that, sweetheart." She shakes her head clearly not believing me.

Of course, he's hot. He's too hot and he knows it. That is exactly the problem.

I think that if I would have even just keep talking to him, I would end up with my feelings hurt.

"If you leave my side again, I will never talk to you." I stop her and spin her so that she would be in front of me.

She lifts up her arms and nods.

"I'm sorry, I thought boys like him are exactly what you're looking for."

"I am!" I say defensively.

I groan.

"I was?"

Eden starts laughing.

"Girl, you need someone like him to forget that troll Tobias."

"He has a new girlfriend anyway." I say quietly and start walking into the building.

The music is blasting so loud even from outside.

"What?" I hear Eden scream.

"Tell me everything!" She says when she finally catches up to me.

"I really, really would rather not." I say.

"Hazel, stop.." She looks at me so worried.

"Stop what?" I am getting frustrated.

I am frustrated about this whole situation. About my mom, about him, about Monday and meeting that stupid Nicole, about finding boys that just want to fuck every walking and living thing attractive.

She gently touches my face and wipes my tears away.

"Oh.." I whisper when I realize that I was crying.

"I am so pathetic, Eden." I groan and put my hands on my face, then run them through my hair and leave them there.

"You're the baddest bitch, don't even start with this shit!" She puts up her finger as of a warning and I let out a little smile.

"Let's get so drunk we don't even remember our own name!" She yells with her head lifted up to the sky.

I laugh and pull her into the building.

"How do we even get up there?" I sound very much confused.

We look at each other.

"I guess we take the elevator?"

"Look, the boys are coming, let's just go with them." She then says and I immediately start shaking my head.

"No!" I let out and start walking to the closest elevator.

"He's not even that bad, he once helped me when I was throwing up." She is saying while running to me.
