Chapter 8- The Secret is Out

You and John had now started dating. You two had so much fun  together you were really falling for him. You would walk around the cities they were playing in before the show during the day going sight seeing and out to eat. You would go back to the hotel and he would practice guitar and show you new things he was working on and asking your advice on different guitar parts whether it was good or not. He seemed to genuinely love your opinion on it. One thing you learned about John was that he was very sensitive he definitely tried to put on a front of being a tough kid that's now in a rock band but he was deep down insecure and scared and looked to you for comfort a lot. "Hey I'm a good guitar player right?" John asked. "That's a fake question right?" You said genuinely thinking he was joking. "Yeah it was stupid sorry I said anything" he said he sounded a little hurt and he made a embarrassed face "I'm sorry baby your a great guitar player the best I've heard in a long time seriously sorry I didn't mean to be insensitive about the question babe" you said moving the guitar out of his lap and sitting down in it. "Yeah I know your right im just being silly right" John asked avoiding eye contact with you. "Yeah babe your amazing" you said kissing his cheek. "It's just that you know how the guys tease me they call me newbie and greenie and I don't know it just makes me feel like they see me as a beginner or like not talented enough to be in their band." John said. "Oh sweetie they're just joking around I promise seriously you should hear the way Anthony talks about you him and all the guys really admire your playing they wouldn't want you in the band if they didn't think you were good enough." You said trying to comfort him. "Yeah your right and I just hate this whole being famous thing it really freaks me the fuck out you know." John said. "Yeah I know baby I know but it'll be ok I promise I'll always be there for you." You said kissing his cheek again to make him feel better. "And if the whole name calling thing really bothers you tell Anthony or one of the guys or hell I can tell one of them for you." You said. John chuckled "yeah that's the last thing I need my girlfriend standing up for me to my band I can talk to them myself but thanks for the offer though babe" he said as he kissed the top of your head. "Speaking of the guys you know we should really tell them we're a thing." You said. "Yeah your right." John said. "Tonight?" John asked. "Sure now or never right" you said.
*Later that night backstage*
"So your probably wondering why we gathered you all here today" you said trying to be funny. "Just get on with it y/n we go on in 20 minutes" Anthony said. "Fine party pooper basically me and John have decided to start dating and we wanted to let you guys know" you said. Crickets. Wow great you thought. "Well hey that's cool congrats Greenie" Flea said pulling John in for a hug. "That's cool I mean Y/n's hot so that's cool John congrats" Chad said. "Hey watch yourself" John said laughing. Flea and Chad then left the room but Anthony still stood there he looked surprised. "Tony? Are you mad?" You asked. "John will you come over here for a second" Anthony said. John walked over and him and Anthony went to the other side of the room and whispered things you couldn't hear but John was smiling so it couldn't be too bad. Then they shook hands and walked back over to you and Anthony said "Well you have my blessing" and walked away leaving you and John alone. "So he took it well?" You asked. "Yeah I mean he gave me the whole what are your intentions with my daughter like speech but other than that he said as long as your happy he's happy but if we do break up he is legally obligated to kill me." John said laughing. You laughed. You felt genuinely happy for the first time in awhile you had John and the guys and everything was good.
