-Seokjin's Pov-
After I finally managed to convince Namjoon to let me go I hurriedly went to my base.
I arrived and sighed seeing my brother already waiting outside with a smirk. I want to punch it off his stupid face
"Well if it isn't my failure older brother...It's been long since we last saw each after father gave me the business."
I stayed silent for a minute "what the hell are you doing here Hyunjin?"
"Can't I visit my older brother?" He scoffed "I see you built your own business...not as successful though..."
"Leave now." I didn't really care about whether my business is as successful as my other families. I already have Namjoon and I wouldn't trade him for anything. I just hope this damn bastard won't do anything to him or do something that I would end up losing him...
"Didn't you miss me? We used to play games back then. I always remember the times when you always lost and I won" Hyunjin continued, his tone mocking.
My blood boiled, but I kept my cool. "What do you want, Hyunjin? I don't have time for your games."
He laughed, a sound that grated on my nerves. "Oh, come on, Seokjin. Is that any way to treat family? Especially when I might have some... interesting information about your little toy."
I stiffened, my heart rate spiking. "Namjoon is none of your business."
"Isn't he, though?" Hyunjin's smirk widened. "You see, I've been keeping an eye on you, dear brother. It's fascinating how quickly you've become attached to him. Almost... obsessively."
I took a step closer, my fists clenching at my sides. "If you lay a finger on him, I swear I'll—"
"You'll what? Kill me?" Hyunjin interrupted, laughing again. "Oh, Seokjin, you always were so predictable. But no, I have no intention of harming him. In fact, I might be able to help you keep him safe."
I narrowed my eyes, suspicious. "What are you playing at, Hyunjin?"
He shrugged, feigning innocence. "Just a friendly offer. I know people, Seokjin. Powerful people. People who could make sure Namjoon stays safe from any... unforeseen dangers."
"And what would you want in return?" I asked, knowing there was always a catch with Hyunjin.
He leaned in, his eyes glinting with malice. "Oh, nothing much. Just a small favor. You see, there's a certain... competitor who's been a thorn in my side. Take care of them for me, and I'll ensure Namjoon is untouchable."
I hated the idea of owing Hyunjin anything, but the thought of Namjoon being safe was tempting. "Give me the details."
Hyunjin's smile was triumphant. "I knew you'd see reason, brother. I'll send you the information. And remember, time is of the essence."
I watched as he walked away, a sense of dread settling in my stomach. Dealing with Hyunjin was like making a pact with the devil, but I would do anything to keep Namjoon safe.
Later that night, I returned to Namjoon's apartment, my mind still reeling from the encounter with Hyunjin. Namjoon greeted me with a warm smile, his eyes lighting up when he saw me.
"Seokie! You're back! I missed you!" he said, wrapping his arms around me.
I hugged him tightly, trying to push away the dark thoughts. "I missed you too, darling."
"Everything okay?" he asked, looking up at me with concern.
"Yeah, just some business stuff..." I lied, forcing a smile. "Nothing for you to worry about."
He nodded, accepting my answer. "Okay, but if you need to talk, I'm here."
"Thank you, darling" I said, kissing his forehead. "I appreciate that."
As we settled in for the night, I held him close, vowing to protect him no matter what. Even if it meant making deals with the devil himself...but could I really trust him? Once he gets what he wants I'm sure he won't care about anything. He is easily convinced by money...
