~A few years later~
-Seokjin's Pov-
I chuckled seeing Namjoon in a rush to find his necklace. “Darling, we’re going to be late. I’ll buy you a new one on the way.”
“But that one is special” he whined. “This is a similar situation to when you were also finding your tie!” He huffed, hands on his hips, looking adorably flustered.
I smiled, walking over to him and placing my hands on his shoulders. “I know it’s special, but we really have to go. We can’t keep the others waiting.”
Namjoon pouted, his eyes pleading. “But it’s the one you gave me on our first anniversary. I can’t lose it.”
I sighed, my heart softening. “Alright, alright. Let’s look for it together. We’ll find it, I promise.”
We started searching the room, checking under furniture and inside drawers. Namjoon was getting more frantic by the minute, and I knew I had to calm him down.
“Hey, don’t worry. We’ll find it” I said, trying to sound reassuring.
He paused, taking a deep breath. “I just don’t want to lose something so important.”
“I understand...” I said, moving a pile of clothes aside. “But even if we don’t find it right now, it doesn’t change how much I love you. Okay?”
Namjoon nodded, his expression softening. “Okay.”
Just as I was about to suggest we give up and leave, I spotted a glint of silver under the bed. “I think I found it!” I exclaimed, reaching down to grab the necklace.
Namjoon’s face lit up as I handed it to him. “Thank you, Seokie! You’re the best!” He threw his arms around me in a tight hug.
I hugged him back, feeling the warmth of his embrace. “Anything for you, darling. Now, let’s get going before we really are late.”
He nodded eagerly, quickly putting on the necklace. We headed out the door, hand in hand, ready to face whatever the day had in store for us. As we walked, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for these moments of normalcy, for the simple happiness we found in each other’s company.
Despite the chaos and danger that had brought us together, we had found a way to build a life filled with love and laughter. And I knew, no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together.
~Later that night~
-Seokjin's Pov-
After meeting up with the others, I felt nervous as we drove back home... well, technically not back home. I told Namjoon we were going home, but I wanted to surprise him.
"Seokie? You missed our turn..." he mumbled softly, still eating takeout in the passenger seat.
I glanced over at him, my heart pounding. "I know, darling. There's something I want to show you."
He looked at me curiously but didn't question it. I could see the trust in his eyes, which only made my nerves worse. My mind raced with thoughts of the night ahead, of what I had planned.
After a short drive, we pulled up to a secluded spot. The place was perfect, a small clearing surrounded by trees, with fairy lights twinkling everywhere, casting a magical glow. I had rented it for the night, wanting everything to be perfect for this moment.
Namjoon’s eyes widened as he took in the sight. “Seokie...this is beautiful! What is this place?”
I smiled, stepping out of the car and walking over to his side to open the door for him. “Come on, I have something special planned.”
He followed me, looking around in awe. The fairy lights reflected in his eyes, making him look even more enchanting. I led him to the center of the clearing where a small table was set up with candles and flowers.
“Seokjin, this is amazing!” he said, his voice filled with wonder. “What’s all this for?”
I took a deep breath, my hands trembling slightly. “My darling, there’s something I’ve been wanting to say for a while now.”
He looked at me expectantly, his eyes wide and innocent.
I took his hands in mine, feeling the warmth and comfort they brought. “Namjoon, you mean the world to me. You’ve brought so much joy and love into my life, more than I ever thought possible. I can’t imagine my life without you. I would do anything to protect. I'll quit my job for you..."
His eyes softened, a smile forming on his lips. “Seokjin…I already told you I accept that side of you...I love you and-”
I dropped to one knee, pulling out the ring I had kept hidden. “Namjoon, will you marry me?”
-Namjoon's Pov-
I felt like the world stopped when I saw Seokjin drop to one knee. Was he really the one? Could I truly trust him with my heart and my life? Well, of course, I could. After everything he had done for me, after all the love and protection he had given, how could I not?
Who knew this was how my life would turn out—falling in love with and getting proposed to by a mob boss. It was surreal, almost like a scene from a movie, but it was my reality. The man in front of me, the man who had fought for me, who had put everything on the line to keep me safe, was now asking me to spend the rest of my life with him.
"Oh s-seokie..."
Seokjin's eyes were filled with a mix of hope and nervousness, a side of him he rarely showed. He was always so strong, so confident, but right now, he was vulnerable, laying his heart bare before me. It made my own heart swell with love and certainty.
“Yes, yes, of course, Seokjin! I love you so much!” I found myself saying, my voice choked with emotion.
As he slipped the ring onto my finger, the world seemed to come back into focus, brighter and more beautiful than ever. We stood there, surrounded by the soft glow of the fairy lights, our embrace warm and comforting. This was my life now, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Seokjin pulled me into a kiss, and I felt all my doubts melt away. In his arms, I felt safe, cherished, and above all, loved. This man, my mob boss, my protector, my lover, was now my fiancé.
And I couldn’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
-Seokjin's Pov-
Tears filled his eyes as he nodded vigorously. “Yes, yes, of course, Seokjin! I love you so much!”
I slipped the ring onto his finger, my heart soaring with happiness. I pulled him up and into a tight embrace, our lips meeting in a tender kiss. The fairy lights around us seemed to glow even brighter, illuminating our moment of pure bliss.
Namjoon was my everything, and now, he would be my forever.
