'goodbye'

I felt love, then I felt hatred,
but I don't feel those anymore.
How could I, as you're a stranger
with the looks of who I loved?

'Cause she loved reading,
you love parties.
Where there was lightning,
now there's nothing.

No, you're not her,
not anymore,
and I'm not the girl
you used to know.

'Cause I wouldn't love you,
at least not like she did.
Now, I don't know you
and you don't know me.

So let's stop pretending
that we can care.
Girl, we're two strangers,
we've never met.

I don't hold grudges,
don't do that anymore,
I forgot all the sadness;
I guess you didn't know

that I keep all the presents
from when we were just kids.
'Cause now that I'm better,
I don't feel like I did.

I don't feel like I wanna hate you,
but I don't wanna love you, either
I just think I've gotta thank you
'cause indifference comes easy.

So I'm writing you this poem
and it's just a "goodbye" note...
I can't love you, you can't love me,
we're just two girls we don't know.
