⚠️ TW! NEGATIVE BODY TALK ⚠️
CARLY POV:

I can't believe what I read. What does she mean I'm her bullseye? My eyes are starting to hurt from tears welling up. I'm starting to hurt. I felt so hurt I had to excuse myself to the washroom.

I'm now left walking the empty halls. Alone, like always. I read the note over and over again, until I reach the bathroom. I walk in and I can immediately see myself in the mirror.

'Maybe she's right?'
'Don't think like that'
'I am ugly'
'You're pretty'
'I should lose weight.'
'You're body is fine'

"Ew." I mutter.

I look down and turn the tap on. Cold water. Freezing cold water. Cupping some in my hands, I spray it in my face, then grab paper towl and wipe the excess water off my face. I continue doing that until I head someone turning the handle. I stop, and act like I was just washing my hands.

I check to make sure it wasn't Emily or her friends. It wasn't. Thank goodness.

'That was close' I thought.

I return back to class and get on with the work tasked out for us. I stop for a moment. Trying to shake the feeling that someone is watching me. Two minutes go by and I still have the feeling of someones piercing eyes digging into my skull. I turn and look around and find the culprit fast. It was Emily and her friends. They were pointing and laughing quietly, then going back to writing something on paper. And that continues all the way until our fourth lesson. Pointing, laughing, writing. I'm tired of the cycle. So I message my mom

Mum ❤️

Mum, please call the school and let me leave early. It's happening again. I don't want to be here anymore.

Carly sweetheart, nobody will be home, plus you'd still have to go back and pick up your siblings.

Please mum. I don't care if I'm alone, it's better than here.

Did you try to tell a teacher?

You know they do nothing.

Fine, I'll phone.

Thank you so much mum.

Relief goes through my mind when I read her say 'fine'. While I wait for my name to be called, I continue my work. But as soon as I pick up my pencil to start working, someone walks past and drops a note on my desk. I look up to see who dropped the note. Claudia. Emily's right hand woman.

I contemplated opening the note. After a minute of thinking about it, I open it.

I wish I hadn't.

The cry babies tears are soon to run out
Where in the halls, you heard me shout.

You may have been wishing we'll never collide.
Carly, you can run. But you can't hide.
