CARLY POV:

I woke up to my school alarm. I seriously don't want to go.

I guess faking sick once more won't hurt?

I walk downstairs trying to look and sound as sick and tired as possible.

"Mummm." I groan. "I still feel sick, can I stay off again?"

"Of course you can." She says as she places her wrist on my forehead. "Hm. You don't have a fever. Does anything hurt?"

Everything hurts.

"Just my head and stomach."

"The medicine is in the cupboard upstairs, drink some water and get plenty of sleep. I've got to get to work, and drop off everyone else at school. Will you be okay home alone all day?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine. See ya mum, heading back to bed."

"Goodbye my dear, hope you feel better soon, text me if you need anything."

I nod and head back upstairs. I feel bad for lying to my mom but I'd rather stay off then head to school just to text and beg her to let me go home.

I'd rather lie than deal with it?

I'm contemplating trying to get more rest, or just scroll on my phone and take a nap later. But I just end up choosing to sleep now.

I lay down, get comfortable pressed between the matress and heated blanket, press my eyes shut and just hope to sleep more.

THREE HOURS LATER

I woke up to my phone going off. That's weird? All of my friends are at school, so are my siblings, my mom and dad are at work? Who would be texting me?

I unlock my phone and see... an unknown number?

I can't think straight.

How did they get my number? None of my friends would willingly give it out? What do I do?

There's no time to feel bad about disrubing someone now.
