Carly POV:

I head downstairs, grabbing a glass of water and filling it halfway.

I just stare at it.

'Come on Carly it's just water, just stop being a pu$$y about it.'

I gulp down a quarter of the water. Mentally preparing for the other three quaters. With a steady deep breath, I chug the rest, put the glass in the dishwasher and walk back upstairs like nothing happened.

It worked though. My hunger slowly faded away while I drank the water.

I just don't know what I'm going to do about dinner again. I could lie and say I had a big lunch, but I don't usually eat that big of meals, my mom would get too suspicious. I can't just not eat, she'll think something ks seriously wrong.

She'd be right though. Something is seriously wrong with me. But I'm trying to cure it myself. I'll be fine.

I'm not fine.

I really need to stop thinking like that.

I grab my phone, unlock it and just scroll on tiktok. It passes time, and keeps my mind off of things for a while. Perfect.

I like a few posts, send a post to my friends. You know, typical teenager activities.

Before I knew it, 3:00 rolls around. Which means my siblings and dad will be home soon. The peace and quiet will be disturbed by talking, playing and screaming. Someone's always screaming.

I hear the front door click, and a whole lot of talking and running. I walk downstairs to greet them and immediately get recognized by my dad.

"Hey kiddo. How's it going? You feeling better?"

"Eh my head hurts off and on, so does my stomach but you know, nothing too horrible." I'm so good at lying!

"I feel you. It hurts but when it's gone, you forget about it until it comes back again."

"Yea."

"Mm. Well I've got to get some more work done," he turns his head to the kitchen. "So if anyone needs me I'll be in the office okay?"

"Okay" "Yep" "Alright" a mix of answers is shared.

With that, he walks off. I walk into the kitchen.

"Hey guys, how was school?"

"I GOT AN A ON MY TEST!" "I PLAYED BASKETBALL AT RECESS WITH MY FRIENDS!" "I PLAYED PRINCESSESS DURING PLAYTIME!" They all say.

"An A? Good job!" "Did you scare any baskets?" "Which princess were you?" I respond, hoping to keep their good moods.

"I didn't score any baskets" "I was Cinderella."

Why do they always respond at the same time?

"There's always next game you can score alright?" He just nods.

"And you were Cinderella? She's so pretty like you are!" Her response is just a silly grin. Something so small but so powerful to everyone around them.

I go grab a glass of water because I can feel hunger coming again. It works again, I can feel it gone. My solutions are perfect.
