Chapter 4: friendly talking

Chapter 4 is here~ I don't own cardfight vanguard~

After a while of the young boy washing the older's hair, Aichi switched the water back to hot so that the shampoo would be able to rinse out properly.

"Thanks"

Kai said as he felt the shampoo rinse out of his hair.

"Want to get out?"

The blue haired boy asked, for neither of the two needed to wash their bodies for the younger had one earlier at his cousin's house.

The brunette frowned slightly but nodded none the less, for even though he enjoyed spending time like this with the younger, he didn't want to accidentally do something that he would soon come to regret.

"Yeah"

"Okay"

The smaller boy swiftly stood up and exited the shower, leaving the brunette to turn it off before exiting as well. The brunette curiously raised a brow as the younger began to wrong the water out of his shirt and shorts while he was wearing them.

"I've been wondering, why did you wear a shirt Aichi?"

The older asked, curious as to why the younger would wear a shirt in the shower even though there was nothing wrong with a guy not wearing a shirt.(unless they're very flabby, with rolls of fat, but Aichi isn't so it's okay)

"....... My old injuries are not too pretty"

The younger boy murmured softly as his sapphire gaze swept its way towards the ground.

"I see...."

The brunette replied, somewhat understanding the younger, yet at the same time, he wanted to see how bad the blue haired boy's injuries had been, and how well they have healed.

"Anyway, we should dry off quickly before one of us catches a cold"

The smaller boy coughed, jades softened as the older ruffled the younger's soft blue locks.

"I think you may already have one...."

The brunette sighed, causing Aichi to laugh sheepishly.

"Probably......"

The brunette raised a brow at how unusually soft the younger boy's voice was, he wondered if there was something that the younger wasn't telling him.

The two boys dried themselves off completely, with help from the ultra absorbent towels so that even their clothes were able to dry.

Aichi stretched a bit before opening the bathroom door, only to hit something with it, a small murmur was heard.

Sapphires looked up towards jades and blinked in surprise as both boys looked out to see Shizuka crouched on the ground blushing.

"Mom..... What are you doing?......"

The blue haired boy sighed as the cyan haired mother got up from the floor.

"I was just listening in, to check if you two were out of the shower yet......"

Shizuka replied with a smile, the blue haired boy nodded in understanding while the brunette frowned slightly, not believing the cyan haired mother at all.

"Oh well we are, you can use the washroom of you want"

The blue haired boy replied as he headed towards his room, the brunette followed after the younger, only to stop when Shizuka pulled him aside.

"Seems like you're pretty eager to be with my son, just remember to go easy on him"

The cyan haired mother laughed darkly, shocking the older for he hadn't seen this side of her before.

"I have no idea what you're talking about....."

"Okay fine, but try not to poke my son with your 'foot' often"

The brunette flushed slightly when he realized that she had been listening in and wasn't as oblivious as her son.

"Tch....."

"Ehh Kai? Aren't you coming?"

Aichi called as he poked his head out of his room, curious as to why the older hadn't come yet.

"Yeah....."

Kai sighed, thankful for a reason to drop his conversation with the cyan haired mother for he wasn't quite accustomed to the weird feeling that were growing inside of him.

"Hehe, my son sure has found the perfect man"

Shizuka chuckled lightly as she headed down the stairs, imagining how close Aichi and the brunette would become after a few more years of them knowing each other.

"What were you talking about with my mom?"

The blue haired boy asked once the older entered the room, the brunette paused for a second before relaxing.

"Nothing much, we were just chatting about how you could have said 'no' to taking a shower together"

Sapphires widened in surprise before the blue haired boy face palmed himself.

"......... You're right...... I could have said 'no' to my mom......"

Aichi replied softly, the older couldn't help but laugh softly at this.

"So you really didn't realize...."

"It's rare for you to laugh......"

The younger gasped in surprised, all earlier embarrassment soon forgotten.

"True...... It has been a while since I've allowed myself to laugh...."

A faint blush tinted the smaller boy's face as he sat down with the older and leaned against him.

"I'm glad you're comfortable enough around me to laugh Kai, even if only a little"

Aichi whispered softly, the older smirked at how cute the blush looked upon his face.

"That's because you're special Aichi, my one and only love"

The brunette replied as he gently caressed the younger's cheek and placed a quick kiss upon his lips.

"You really do change when we're alone Kai"

Aichi laughed lightly.

"Really? I don't think I do?"

The blue haired boy shook his head and looked up into jades, sapphires glimmering.

"You do change....... you're more open around me, contrast to you being the 'cool guy' when others are around"

Aichi whispered.

"So I'm not cool when I'm around you?"

"Kai, you'll always be cool to me"

The brunette allowed himself to smile at the younger's response, he felt so light because he was able to be with the younger, even after everything that had happened.

"And you'll always be the adorable boy who can never wear straight glasses"

The brunette sighed as he straightened the younger's lapis frames that had been crooked ever since they had been out on after the shower.

"Stop messing with my glasses...... They're never crooked. if they were I'd be able to tell"

Aichi huffed as he moved away from the older.

"Apparently not then...."

Me: end of le chappy~

Miwa: so much joking~~

Me: that's to make up for le depressing start of book 3

Miwa: I see.... Book 1 starts sad, book 2 starts happy, book 3 starts sad and book 4 starts happy....

Me: yep a pattern~

Miwa: *cough* more like an coincidence....
