Chapter 7: Story time

Chapter 7 is here~ I don't own cardfight vanguard~

The blue haired boy let out a soft sigh, almost inaudible as he shook his head to the older's request.

"I'd rather forget, talking about it will just make it harder to forget..."

"Aichi please...."

Kai whispered softly as he lifted the younger's chin up so as to place a gentle kiss on the boy. The younger's cheeks flushed as sapphires flickered away from the brunette.

"....... Fine but I'm not going to tell you everything......."

The older nodded, content with just being told a little more than what he already knew.

"That's okay Aichi, I'll still listen"

The younger moved out of the older's embrace and went back to sitting with his knees tucked to his chest and resting his head on his knees.

"I'm skipping the first while..... but after I was able to move well enough, I began trying to head out of the cave. However since I had been injured I hadn't paid attention to which direction was the one that I had come from......"

The blue haired boy started, the older nodded, guessing that was the main reason as to how the younger had gotten so horribly lost.

"So you ended up heading in the wrong direction?"

"Yeah...... I wasn't even that deep in the cave then but somehow I still managed to get lost.... I tried backtracking but I eventually didn't even know if I was truly backtracking or not so I just settled for wandering...."

Aichi sighed as he hugged his knees a little tighter than before for a few seconds.

"I didn't know how much time had passed..... But I eventually became hungry.... At first I tried to look for any edible animals..... I found some but I wasn't able to capture any of them...."

The older smirked slightly as he imagined the blue haired boy frantically chasing little animals.

"You actually thought that you'd be able to catch something?"

Kai asked light heartedly, Aichi scowled slightly at the older's comment but paid no ill will towards it for he somewhat agreed.

"At the time, yes..... I was hungry, it had been a while for me to become truly mobile......"

"Truly mobile?"

Sapphires dimmed slightly at the older's question.

"As I said.... I'm not going into too much detail in what happened after the crash and during good bit of time afterwards....."

Aichi murmured softly.

"Maybe another time then....."

Kai sighed, not wanting to argue out of the risk of the younger deciding to not talk anymore.

"Probably not..... Anyway, water was easy to find so I had no problem with staying hydrated..... However I couldn't catch anything so I eventually collapsed from hunger....... Then I saw the moss......"

The older grimaced when he remembered Aisen's reaction to the taste of the moss.

"It was nasty..... So very disgusting....."

Aichi shivered in disgust at the memory.

"I was desperate....... I was scared of dying of hunger but I no longer had the energy to stand.... Luckily I had collapsed very close to a stream where I could drink, which I did often as the moss was horrid... So I laid in the same spot just eating, sleeping and drinking for who knows how long until I was able to stand"

The older wondered what would have happened if Aichi had collapsed in a place far away from water, he suppressed a shiver at the thought.

"I then spent my time searching for the exit.... only ending up more lost in the process..... After a good amount of time.... I couldn't tell properly I started to feel sick, like I was going to throw up.... I never did throw up, however I did begin to cough a lot.... I got really scared the first time I saw that I had coughed up blood..."

The young boy whispered softly.

"Of course..... Everyone would be afraid if they thought that they were going to die Aichi...."

The brunette sighed as he reassuringly patted the younger's arm.

".... That wasn't what scared me the most...."

Kai raised a brow at the younger's reply.

"Really? Then what were you mostly afraid of then?"

A faint blush tinted the smaller boy's face as he looked away from the older's deep jade coloured gaze.

"I was more scared of the thought that I'd die all alone in the cave.... Never able to escape and see you again....."

The last part was almost inaudible to the older, however he had managed to hear the younger's soft words.

Kai couldn't help but feel touched by the younger boy's adorable and embarrassing words.

"I'm glad that we found you so that your fear didn't come true Aichi, I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found you in that cave...."

The brunette whispered softly but loudly enough to cause the younger to blush.

"W-well anyway..... My coughing bouts used to be far and few between..... However.... Over time it has become more frequently that I'm coughing.... Thankfully the times I do cough up blood sent as frequent....."

The brunette felt a little relieved that coughing up blood wasn't something that happened often to the younger.

"How serious has the coughing up blood become?"

Kai wanted to know the worst time so as to be able to gauge the younger's health.

"I kept coughing up blood until I couldn't breath because I was coughing too much, then I passed out and woke up some time later....."

Jades narrowed slightly at the response, he would have probably freaked out if that happened in front of him without any prior warning about Aichi's condition.

Aichi noticed the older's worried expression and smiled sweetly at him.

"Don't worry that has only happened once, and that was a long time ago.... I think"

"That still doesn't take away my worry...."

Kai sighed.

"I guess.... Well you have already been told about how I started making fires to scare away bugs..... Which were annoying me quite a lot.... So I guess I have nothing else that I'm okay with telling you"

Aichi sighed as he flopped backwards into his bed.

Me: poor Aichi

Miwa: you're one to talk! You're the one who made him be hurt!

Me: hehe so true ^-^

Miwa: btw..... When am I making an actual appearance in this book?

Me: who knows~ I hate you anyway~

Miwa: ouch....

Me: okay I don't hate you, but you're not my favourite~

Miwa: jeez that makes me feel oh so much better -_-
